Manuel Lanzini takes the No. 10 shirt after wearing No28 during his first season in Claret and Blue.

New signing Havard Nordtveit is the Hammers’ new No4, while Algeria international Sofiane Feghouli has chosen No7. Their fellow new boy, Turkey international Gokhan Tore will wear No17, while youngsters Ashley Fletcher, Antonio Martinez and Domingos Quina are 24, 29 and 36 respectively.

  1. Question: No 10 shirt vacated by Zarate: Why does Lanzini get it as opposed to one of the other existing squad members?
    Answers on a post card please….

  2. Lanzini has already signed and is a squad member. Giving him No.10 is fair recognition of his contribution so far and a marker for what’s expected as he develops.

    • I don’t have a problem whatsoever with Lanzini being awarded it for his undisputed outstanding contribution. I was just trying to understand the process whereby he gets it instead of another squad member who might also have made an outrstanding contribution.
