London Stadium caterers Delaware North were charging £6.50 per pint of Amstel larger at yesterday’s (Sat) game while e at Spurs stadium on the same day, the same pint is just £5.19, the same price as last season!
So much for West Ham London’s comparable club clause, which is openly breached year after year by Delaware North, London Stadium 185 & LLDC.
London Stadium beer prices have increased to £6.50 per pint for Fosters, but the actual cost should be £5.75 per pint, with other foods and drinks also overpriced.
Despite threats from West Ham that they will sue the stadium owners if they don’t comply with the comparable clubs’ clause, the prices have not dropped further in recent seasons.
The 2013 concessionaire agreement clause says the price of food and drink can be no more than the mean average of Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs prices. As it stands, the mean average of the cheapest beer across those clubs is £5.75 per pint for the cheapest pint.
London Stadium has previously claimed that there is a clause in Delaware North’s contract and the issue is down to the caterer, but West Ham’s contract is with LLDC and not Delaware North.
LLDC subcontracted catering to operators London Stadium 185 which was owned by them, who in turn contracted Delaware North in a 25-year catering contract for the stadium.
Not to mention the fact that getting in early for special deals seems to have now become exclusive to certain bars. they should operate that policy both inside AND outside which will no doubt ease the massive security queues, and in the long run, make more money?
