West Ham United have placed a job advert on LinkedIn for a position to work directly under the club’s new Head of Recruitment, Kyle Macaulay.
The role, titled ‘Recruitment Support Analyst,’ has already attracted over 100 applicants in the first 24 hours of being advertised.
The position requires the successful candidate to report directly to Macaulay, who was brought in from Chelsea on the recommendation of manager Graham Potter.
Key Responsibilities:
Cutting and tagging key match footage for individual player assessments.
Using video platforms to create and organise playlists aligned with recruitment objectives.
Preparing video content for recruitment meetings, presentations, and decision-making sessions.
The job is listed as full-time (40 hours per week), with the successful applicant expected to liaise regularly with scouts, analysts, coaches, and recruitment staff.
While the salary is not specified, the role presents an opportunity to work closely with Macaulay, who has been tasked with revamping West Ham’s scouting and recruitment strategy ahead of a pivotal summer transfer window.
For those interested in working for West Ham but not keen on data analysis, the club is also advertising for a kitchen assistant, operations chef, and a football coach (don’t worry, Potter—the coaching role is for the Hammers Football Foundation, not the first team manager’s job).
Sullivan will still ignore the data & sign players he wants at the club just ask Tim S.
Happy. Think the purpose of the information gathering is to underpin value assessment rather than to guide owners in a certain direction. AI assistant will do the job if logical team recruitment is all that is required. Trouble with that is we end up with a tremendous manager with tremendous players and nobody knowing what on earth is going on. We have been there and still recovering from the disjointed approach.

If W Ham cant pick out the players we want by eye physically then it’s a sad state of affairs
