Kudus could return for Hammers following Ghana capitulation
Mohammed Kudus may make a swift return for West Ham in our upcoming match against Bournemouth following a dramatic turn of events for Ghana in the African Cup of Nations.
Ghana suffered a late collapse, conceding two stoppage-time goals, which led to a two-goal advantage being squandered, resulting in a draw against Mozambique. The Black Stars, initially in control with two Jordan Ayew penalties, saw their lead slip away as Geny Catamo converted from the spot in the 9oth minute, and Reinildo Mandava’s header dashed Ghana’s hopes.
Mozambique concluded their campaign at the bottom of Group B, leaving Ghana with a slim chance to progress, needing favourable outcomes in other groups to secure a spot among the top four third-placed teams.
Whilst the turn of events is heart-breaking for Chris Hughton’s Ghana side, it brings a silver lining for David Moyes and the West Ham squad. The potential return of Kudus is welcomed news, as West Ham have struggled in his absence. The premature exit from the AFCON means Kudus could be available for crucial Premier League fixtures against Bournemouth, Manchester United, and Arsenal.
