Forgive us for looking ahead to the January transfer window already. It hardly seems a moment since the August window clicked shut – but it is October tomorrow so clubs will already be scouting, plotting and planning to fill their squad numbers. And West Ham United still have empty squad places. Only this morning I read of a rumour that Mikhail Antonio was going to be sold in the January window: More on that one later once I’ve substantiated it.
But one thing we all know is that West Ham do need to bolster their striker options, and are already being linked with players in the January window. Please, Santa, can we have a goalscorer, preferably one under 30?
In a report yesterday by footballtransfers.com there is news that West Ham are linked with Bundesliga striker Omar Marmoush: Tim Steidten as the expert on Bundesliga players has been rumoured to have been an admirer for some time. Marmoush is quick, (tick) young at 25, (double tick) and at a transfermarkt.com value of €22 million (triple tick) is not out of reach for The Irons.
As the report continues:
“The Egyptian has always been a highly-rated attacker – so much so that he was scouted by Arsenal before – but it had never really clicked for him like it is currently at Eintracht Frankfurt.”
Furthermore, “Marmoush is now under consideration by West Ham, who are without a striker under the age of 31.”
17 goals last season for Frankfurt last season and already underway in 2024/5 with 4 goals and 3 assists in 6 games, playing in a central striker role. an exciting option at a realistic price – even allowing for the inflation in the market just now. Nottingham Forest did try their luck in the summer at £25 million, about €30 million and were knocked back by Frankfurt.
So we know it’ll be nearer ‘Duran money’ than ‘Fullkrug money’ but if we want a top quality striker – that’s the going rate.
If West Ham get either Antonio or Ings off the books in January, we could well make a move for a striker such as Marmoush who would give us youth and pace. Something to look forward to in the long dark winter nights ahead!
West Ham to actually buy a proper striker? Sure, and pigs will fly! 🤣
Not while the two bob dwarf is the main shareholder..at least.
there it is…the garbage (that was spoken about yesterday) that gets spouted by brats with an agenda on this site 👎
