West Ham United‘s technical director Tim Steidten is proving his worth as the club embarks on an ambitious summer recruitment drive.

After facing scrutiny for a perceived slow start to the transfer window, Steidten has quickly turned the tide with a flurry of deals in the pipeline. With the imminent arrivals of Crysencio Summerville, Guido Rodriguez, and Niclas Füllkrug.

Aaron Wan Bissaka remains in the mix with personal terms agreed and the clubs ‘just’ £8 million apart yesterday, before rumours of a hijack circulated: We know the player is keen to return to London so hope AWB will join shortly, as The Hammers are demonstrating a clear intent to strengthen their squad significantly.

Appointed to his post 12 months ago, Steidten has been responsible for the Irons overarching player recruitment strategy and scouting department, and has already forged a strong working relationship with the new man at the Hammers’ helm.

The German’s ability to identify and secure key targets has been pivotal in this period of rapid progress. As the club continues to negotiate and finalise these deals, fans will be eagerly anticipating the official announcements.

It is all beginning to look rather good!

I think this is the 6th ramp up story in the last week …4or5 players on the go …but not one.has put pen to paper yet…..really ramping up 🙄

    • NorfolkHammer says:

      Inter apparently interested in Bassaka

Here is a contrary post for you all.

This window will be a Steidten masterclass and no mistake, following Kudus and Alvarez last season.

If we sign all the players who I believe we will, this will be nothing short of a miracle; they are all massive upgrades on what we have had and have. Incredible stuff.

What is for certain, this would have NEVER happened under the last manager, or without Tim Steidten.

I cannot believe some people are whinging having already signed Kilman and Guillerme (See Kudus’ comments re the latter).and now Summerville – a proper, pacy left winger with an incredible right foot, Rodriguez, Fullkrug and hopefully Wan Bissaka. Remember, we are not in Europe this season, which make these signings even more remarkable, but I will says this…..

We will be in Europe at the end of the season if this continues and Lopetegui can get all these new boys to gel quickly. You heard it here first.

Fullkrug, Summerville, Kudus, Pacqueta, Bowen, Alvarez, Rodriguez and hopefully a new partner for.Kilman!

Whining? I am literally doing somersaults. This is an unprecedented direction for our club with a technical director and a coach. It is a sea change, exlipsing that which went before it.

      I am loving it actually.

      C O Tim Steidten!

So what is the hijack rumour, Simon?

  • Dudley Tylet says:

The only places that were scrutinizing him were sites like this which to fill an information (and therefore click revenue) gap started running stories suggesting problems. Even saw one forum post where someone was ‘praying’ that Steidten and Lopetequi would leave to teach Sullivan a lesson. Saw another where someone said Lopetequi would be off like he did at Wolves because of lack of investment. Anyone thinking now he’s off? Has any other new manager in the PL had this level of support this window?

  • Andy says:

It doesn’t look good at all. Most strikers from Germany fail in the Premier League. We are supposed to be signing a less than prolific 31 year old on a four year deal. Same old West Ham.

    • Len says:

Keep moaning about German strikers not scoring. Rember we only have one person that is scoring on a regular basis
So we have nothing to loose but plenty to gain.

    • Shaun Atkinson says:

It’s not the Germans fault if the manager is not playing the striker has a striker.this lad at Fullkrug looks the business.lets not be picky and just get behind these signings if we get them.coyi ⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️

    • TR says:

It’s the being so cheerful that keeps you going, isn’t it? lol

  • Jphnnj says:

Steidten delivers? What…post? Can you show me where on the West Ham website it confirms any of these signings? You’ve gone from saying we’ve done nothing to we’ve done everything in a week and on both these extreme positions you are being extremely irritating.

  • Dudley Tyler says:

Yes, one goal less than Kane ( an English striker playing in Germany and the same age ) in the European Championship this summer. Bayern paid eighty six million for Kane a year ago. Sounds like same old Steidten to me.

  • Tezzard says:

Can anyone confirm Simon leyland is a real person? Or are these posts AI generated ?

  • Bennyboy baker says:

There’s is no pleasing some people if all the signings that are close to be completed it will be amazing that we got all these players signed up I don’t have a worry about having a German striker believe me he will score goals and at quite a rate the defence is heading in the right direction so fingers crossed we should be more than ready for the upcoming season

  • Tezzard says:

    Phew thanks !

  • Joe says:

Man if these transfer happen I’ll be so gassed, need another centre back, and I think another goal keeper, cos of the three we have Areolas the only one I really want to be seeing play regularly for us, not entirely sure why we signed foderingham tbh, but we are well on the way to having a hugely upgraded squad! COYI ⚒️

  • Kagy says:

    Negative Negative Negative
Let’s back him and us to the hilt
    COYI

  • Jeeps says:

If funds available right back should be Joe Gomez much more versatile than KWP or AWP.
Probably also a much easier signing.
Too many complications with other two.
Looks like there will be a need to fight of Newcastle.
