Steidten plots Moyes replacement at West Ham
David Moyes must fall into line at West Ham and accept the authority of Director of Football Tim Steidten. That’s according to Sean Whetstone who last night reported on the power struggle currently happening at the club.
Steidten’s influence has been steadily growing, and he’s reportedly compiled a list of potential managerial replacements for David Moyes.
Moyes is now expected to collaborate with Steidten in preparation for the upcoming January transfer window. Failure to do so could jeopardise Moyes’ position, potentially leading to his release before his contract expires at the end of the season. Steidten is set to assume full control over player recruitment, presenting Moyes with a list of prospective targets to consider.
The West Ham board has grown increasingly impressed with Steidten’s successful transfers, including the acquisitions of Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez, and Konstantinios Mavropanos. This success has persuaded the West Ham hierarchy to grant him full authority over the club’s transfer dealings.
Moyes now finds himself in a most precarious position. As an ‘old-school’ manager the Scotsman may find it difficult to be subservient to Steidten having been omnipotent at the club for so long.
