Steidten to bring in Moyes replacement?

|

The appointment of Tim Steidten as director of football could bring with it the long-term strategy for the replacement of David Moyes when his contract comes to an end next summer.

Alonso

Steidten helped appoint Xabi Alonso as manager of Bayern Leverkusen in the summer of 2022, and that contract expires next summer at the same time as David Moyes contract.

The former Liverpool and Real Madrid player moved to Bayern Leverkusen, where he hung up his boots in 2017 before turning his hand to coaching.

He went on to become a Real Madrid youth coach before moving to Real Sociedad as a coach and holds a UEFA Pro license.

At Leverkusen, Alonso holds a 50% win rate in the Bundesliga and the Europa League since joining and has managed three games in the Champions League.

At 41 years of age, the Spanish manager could be the ideal young replacement for Moyes, who turned 60 this year.
