Steidten wants old boy back
West Ham have entered the race to secure the signature of Bayer Leverkusen’s centre-back, Edmond Tapsoba, amidst growing interest in Kurt Zouma from the Saudi Pro League. The reports have started to emerge in the German media this morning. The 24-year-old imposing defender is well acquainted with West Ham’s Tim Steidten, having joined Leverkusen in 2021.
Tapsoba, an international player from Burkina Faso, has been consistently linked with a move to the Premier League in recent times. Manchester United in particular have been expressing interest in the left-sided centre-back.
It’s worth noting that Leverkusen, currently performing exceptionally well, are not eager to offload any players this season. Xabi Alonso’s team have produced outstanding performances and currently lead the Bundesliga ahead of Stuttgart, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund as they head into the October international break.
The fact Tapsoba is a left sided defender, may be of some interest to West Ham. Manager David Moyes has been actively trying to replace Nayef Aguerd. Until recently, The Hammers were chasing Manchester United’s Harry Maguire.
