West Ham are being reported to have agreed a deal in principle for Tim Steidten to become the club’s new technical director and are expected to make a formal announcement in the next 24 hours once he has signed the contract!.

It is three months today since Steidten left Bayern 04 Leverkusen  – three months which may have been his notice period/ gardening leave, where he was disallowed for working elsewhere.

He is rumoured to have had a fallout with Leverkusen Simon Rolfes after his relationship with his counterpart deteriorated after Rudi Völler, Leverkusen’s Sporting managing director, stepped down in the summer of 2022.

Steidten is quoted at the time as saying he wanted a new project where he had more say over decisions.

He oversaw signings like Florian Wirtz, Moussa Diaby, Jeremie Frimpong and Exequiel Palacios – among others – during his time at Leverkusen.

In the meantime he has already visited the Hammers rush Green training centre per www.six foot two.co.uk.

I’m with Buster on this one. I second his request for some clarification!

  • Buster says:

What’s a Technical Director exactly? And also a Director of Football and Sporting Director?
Does anyone in the fanbase actually know?

Dont tell me, it wasn’t early this week. It’s early next week. Again
