West Ham have failed with an initial bid of £15m for Marko Arnautovic with Stoke saying he will only be sold ‘if terms are right’.
“We have received a bid from West Ham for Marko and it was turned down,” Coates told Jason Burt from the Daily Telegraph.
“Mark (Hughes) is planning to meet with the player and hopefully he can find a positive resolution, as he did last year. We will only sell Marko if the terms are right but he’s not a player we want to lose.”
Following the bid rejection, the 28-year-old forward is claimed to have handed in a transfer request to force through the departure but chairman Peter Coates has insisted that Stoke will not be pressured into letting Arnautovic leave on the cheap.
Stoke are thought to value their player at a minimum of £20m in the current market and will hold out for better offers in the hope of getting as much as £25m.
Another rumour suggests Robert Snodgrass could go the opposite way in a part exchange.
I said on here a few days back that I thought he was injury prone. I have now now been a**** to do some research (Wikipedia) & found that he has played 30, 29, 34 &32 PL games over last 4 seasons. Then I come on here to report the good news & see Ray’s comment above! I also said the other day that he won’t come anyway, but now he has all the qualities expected of a new signing!
Never know 64 he could be faking it to stay dit for a move could just be a knock don’t know yet. And those records over 4 years for a player of his size is great. I know he has some injury but think Shaqiri has the worse record of the 2.
And Stoke have said they want £20m for him and they are now in bookies as 3rd Favs for Snodgrass so a swap and cash could be used. But Snod plays inverted on right his is prefered position but they could still be interested. Ayew is our Left winger we Bought as CF. And west Brom want him for Chadli
Sky reports his just gone and got crocked…definite signing then 😀
