Striker already looking forward to next season

|

andrew-ayew-west-ham_3766955Hammers record signing Andre Ayew produced probably his best performance in an Irons short at Burnley and declared:  “The whole season has been difficult so we’re happy to end like this.”

And he added: “Overall, the season has been difficult, but we’re just a point away from eighth spot at the end of the day. We were quite disappointed because there were games where we definitely could have had more points.

“You take away from it that you need to win your points and take your chances and learn from this season now. We’ll learn, and prepare for the next one.”

He showed a striker’s instincts to grab his fifth goal of the season and said: “My goal for sure was right place, right time.

I had a similar opportunity at Stoke and missed it, so I’m happy to score today and hopefully now it’s the end of the season that will set us up for next season. We are going to have holidays now and prepare for next season.

“I think this year we have been unlucky with injuries and we didn’t start the season well. We had the Europa League also, and we didn’t manage to qualify, but after the start we had, we got to a point where we managed to turn things around, so it’s been a good end.”

I like Ayew god knows why he gets a rough ride off of some of the fans. There have been far far worse performers and he has weighed in with a reasonable return of goals per full appearances since coming back from injury.

I think the majority of fans like him young Steve.I wouldnt take much notice of some of the grumpy buggers on here and other sites.Happy Hammers are in the minority on them.If they cant find things to moan about to do with us they start on other clubs lol

The majority of the game, he’s a worker but he does have he’s moments of laziness. Unlike Feghouli who for me is the opposite. Works when HE wants to but hardly tracks back or comes back to help when we lose the ball and the opposition gets a counter on.
Today at Burnley though he seemed to have some good link up play with Ayew and had a bit of a partnership going on. Was that just me or did anyone else see that?
