Striker news gives Hammers a boost

|

West Ham striker Michail Antonio should be fit for the match against Arsenal on Boxing Day evening.

That’s particularly good news for the Hammers given the situation surrounding Gianluca Scammaca whose injury is causing some concern.

The Italian rolled an ankle against Fulham and left the action after 10 minutes and we understand it was so swollen that it was  impossible to scan it yesterday (Tues).

That doesn’t sound good but the better news is that Mikey is reported to be okay despite missing the friendly with a thigh issue.

We were told that he had felt something in thigh in training and it was felt that he should remain on the side lines as a precaution.

However the situation now is that Mikey is feeling a lot more comfortable with the situation and is virtually certain to be available should he be required.

Our source said: “There can be no certainty over Gianluca but Mikey is feeling ok.”
