The striker search is well and truly under way at West Ham, even though four potential targets have already been ruled out. Liam Delap is heading to Chelsea, Jonathan David is likely bound for Napoli, Yuri Alberto is sidelined due to injury and Emanuel Emegha is joining Chelsea from Strasbourg but will stay on loan at the French club. Despite these setbacks, Kyle Macaulay’s list of possible targets remains extensive.

Matthias Kvistgaarden from Brondby has been watched on numerous occasions. Aged 23, the 5ft 8” striker has two years left on his contract, and scored 17 goals in 29 appearances with 5 assists in the Super Liga last season. Brondby Director of Football, Benjamin Schmedes praised him, saying “He is an interesting player for the five major leagues. It is not without reason as to why he was named Player of the Year.” Celtic and Eintracht Frankfurt are also keeping tabs on him.
If the Hammers can lure Kvistgaarden to Stratford, he’s likely to come in as a ‘starter’, relegating Niclas Fullkrug to the supersub role to which he is probably best suited.
Richard Kone at Wycombe has also caught West Ham’s attention. The 21 year old previously played for Athletic Newham in the Essex Senior League, just a stone’s throws away from the London stadium, where he netted  88 goals in 109 appearances, between 2019 and 2024. Since moving to Wycombe, Kone has continued to shine with 21 goals in 58 appearances. The Buckinghamshire club rejected a £6m bid in the January transfer window from an unamed Championship club, with the player going on to become EFL League one player of the season and Young Player of the Season.
Other names under consideration Baris Alper Yilmaz who has reportedly been the subject of a £25 million offer, Nice striker Evan Guessand who is available for £24m, and Victor Boniface who carries a €50m price tag. However Guessand and Boniface are currently viewed as secondary options in West Ham’s search.

I have been a season ticket holder since the late eighties, so experienced the highs and lows of being a West Ham supporter. I previously wrote for OLAS and have contributed to a number of football publications in the past.

Blah blah blah more noise with no substance.

Sullivan will ruin any plan we have. The man is a curse he will scupper transfers and will bring in rubbish that his agent mates recommend and give a good deal on. We will never get the player we need just the one that offers the cheapest package. Fact we can’t do business because he will be on holiday most the summer and doesn’t work weekends. The sooner his is gone the better. This club is a joke.
