Striker sparkles in Brighton victory

West Ham forward Divin Mubama notched up his 20th goal of an impressive season, as he scored a brace against Brighton under 21’s at Rush Green last night.

Mubama was impressive throughout a game which the Hammers dominated despite the close 3-2 scoreline. The strikers first was and impressive deft chip as he escaped the chasing Brighton defenders, and he followed it up by dispatching a penalty late in the game.

However, the most impressive of the three goals was scored by the versatile Kamarai Swyer, who swiveled to dispatch a neat opener with an excellent volley.

West Ham broadcast the game live on their YouTube channel so it was my first opportunity to watch January signing Luizão in action. The Brazilian was signed on a free transfer from Sao Paulo during the winter window, but it was another defender who really excelled.

Kaelan Casey, playing on the right side of a back three looked calm beyond his years. He was comfortable in possession, read the game well and was dominant in the air.

Overall a very good night indeed for the youngsters.
