Striker target keen on Italy exit – report

Striker target Giovanni Simeone is open to a move away from Italian club Cagliari this summer amid links with the Hammers, according to a new report.

Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb reports that the forward is considering his options amid interest from Marseille, La Liga, and the Irons.

Simeone is a striker but he  struggled for goals last season, scoring just six times and laying on two assists, as Cagliari finished 16th in Serie A.

In total, he’s scored 18 goals in 70 outings for the club so he’s hardly  prolificr.

However, he is said to be keen on a potential move away from Serie A and he could view the Irons as a potentially attractive destination.

There has yet to be a formal offer tabled but it seems that there have been a number of enquiries from interested parties.

Simeone remains a young prospect at  25, and he has also won five caps for Argentina, scoring once.
