Boulaye Dia’s agent Frederic Guerra has been quoted in French media talking about West Ham interest in his client.
Le10 Sport quote the representative as saying: “We talked a lot last month with West Ham. However, we have not moved forward. He is a player that interests them. After that, the question this winter is whether by choosing West Ham or another club, we do not exclude many other clubs this summer.
“With the Covid situation, offers are rare during the winter transfer window. We are among these questions. If it is better to leave now or this summer (…) Of course it is a security to accept West Ham this winter but it would also close the doors for this summer. Italian clubs are interested, in Spain, in Germany. To choose is to give up, so if we choose West Ham, we give up on others.”
The 24-year-old has scored 10 Ligue 1 goals and assisted once in 16 appearances this term making him one of the highest scorers in the French top-flight league.
Dia scored 10 league goals in 42 games across the last two seasons and is proving to be a real quality finisher in Europe.
Dia’s Stade Reims contract runs until 2022 and it’s reckoned David Moyes could get him for a knockdown transfer fee as low £10million.
However, the Hammers could face competition for Dia’s signature with Arsenal, Marseille and Lyon all thought to be big fans of the young striker.
The 24 year old definitely appears to be a real prospect for the Hammers who are determined to bring in at least one of the strikers on David Moyes’ wish list this winter.
They may feel that this would ease them through until the end of the season when they will again be in the market for a third arrival up front
