Strong man Antonio looks to beat injury lay-off odds

|

Determined Michail Antonio is ready to beat the depressing four or five month out predictions being thrown around following his latest injury setback.

Everybody’s worst fears were confirmed when a torn muscle was shown up after he had a second scan on the injury and he has since been under the knife.

But it has come as no surprise to any of the backroom staff that the 30 year old midfielder is ready to do all it takes to beat the 124 and 132 day lay offs he suffered in 2016/17 and 2017/18 season with the same problem.

Players are always notoriously optimistic when facing lengthy lay offs but such is the player’s strength and athleticism that you have to believe in anyone can make it back within a three to four month timetable Michail is that man.

A well placed source within the club explained to Claret and Hugh that even before, and while waiting for the scans, he was walking around unaided.

However,  when discovering the extent of the injury he was thinking in terms of a three month lay off rather than four to five.

Our insider explained: “It was horrible discovering our worst fears had been confirmed but if there’s a player you would back to beat the odds Mikey is the man.”

Our prayers, thoughts and well wishes be extended to Antonio. May he heal and strengthen up nice and strong. And return with similar confidence, pace and sharpness as what he had before the injury. God bless Michail.
