Here we go again, fellow Irons fans. Another managerial merry-go-round is in full swing, and the familiar feeling of frustration is settling in. Owner David Sullivan seems determined to uphold the club’s tradition of questionable decisions.
West Ham desperately wants a seat at the table with London’s elite – Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham. But their transfer market strategy and managerial appointments have consistently fallen short. The flirtation with Ruben Amorim, a highly-rated manager, was a cruel tease. Now, we’re left with the likes of Lopetegui and Fonseca – decent managers, sure, but hardly inspiring choices. It feels like settling for “good enough” once again.
David Moyes, despite achieving European qualification with a limited squad, in all probability will be shown the door. Talks are expected, And even if Moyes stays, the rumour mill continues to churn with Lopetegui and Fonseca potentially heading elsewhere anyway.
Can West Ham break free from this cycle of mediocrity? Sullivan needs to show genuine ambition, not just in words but in actions. The fans deserve better. They deserve a club that strives for excellence, not just settles for “not terrible.” Will the summer transfer window bring a new manager and a renewed sense of purpose, or will West Ham remain stuck in the mud? Only time will tell, but for now, the feeling is one of cautious pessimism.
Why aren’t we looking at Kieran McKenna or Rob Edwards. Can’t see any of the others names mentioned being any more attractive. Just a thought.
McKenna would be a very good coach at West Ham
What I don’t understand is we need a lot of players preferably uk based.Yet we are disclosing our targets to everyone and they are picking them off while we dither as usual.Newcastle are now favorites to sign Fulham Centre half on free transfer whom we have been linked with since last season? They’ve agreed 6m a season surely we can offer more he’s free? And Everton are all over Coventry Centre half and Blackburn rovers midfielder who are both £15m
Sullivan listens to no one apart from himself he’s happy to sit back and watch others jumping through hoops while he knows exactly who is going to be the manager next season and like everything with Sullivan it will all be done for as cheap as possible he’s a owner with no vision
So you don’t want Fonseca now? I mean take a position and stand firm. You had seemed pretty excited by the chance of Fonseca joining.
David Sullivan should listen to Tim Steidten’s advice. Steidten was hired to help West Ham move up to a new level. Whatever is decided, they should not wait until last minute with their decision making.
As me dear departed dad used to say.
