Aaron Wan-Bissaka is seeking a significant financial settlement from Manchester United to oil the wheels of his departure from the club this summer. Numerous news outlets are reporting that while West Ham are prepared to meet United’s £18 million valuation for Wan-Bissaka, they cannot accommodate his salary demands, putting the deal in jeopardy.

This is causing a major issue for the Hammers who look in desperate need of a right back following Vladimir Coufal’s evident unsuitability to play the role under new head coach Julen Lopetegui.

Although Wan-Bissaka is open to moving to West Ham, he is not pushing to leave United and is unwilling to compromise on his financial expectations. The 26-year-old has less than a year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford and could secure a substantial signing bonus by waiting to leave on a free transfer next summer.

His representatives are urging United to share a portion of the £18 million transfer fee from West Ham with Wan-Bissaka to complete the deal this summer.

  • John Ayris says:

He could drag his heels all season drawing a years wage and then walk away on a free. It would make sense for Man U to avoid that.

    • Tony Potter says:

It’s what Lingard done when he was there

    • Stanley Mliwa says:

I wish he should do exactly that. Even Maguire requested for the compensation last season when they wanted to sell him ro West Ham

  • Brooking4Mayor says:

Are you for real Gonzo? Vladimir Coufal’s evident unsuitability to play the role under new head coach Julen Lopetegui. This is where you lot always fall down. You spout your opinion and expect everyone to agree with it. You are entitled to your opinion as we all are, but we don’t make it front page news and try and tell anyone who will listen….maybe if you had a little more respect and gave him the benefit of the doubt being one of the late returners, fair enough….but you lot at C&H don’t, you use it as a way to post controversial statements as you jump on a situation created by your opinion to advertising your thoughts. It’s that kind of opinion that truly irritates me. Everyone else has had 2 or 3 games prior to get used to new tactics against lesser opposition, but hey let’s forget any context, let’s just post what we want! I’m out of here for good this time, this places just uses our great club to get their clicks while unfairly trying to drag people down!

    • Gonzo mum says:

Stop bullying my darling Gonzo as he’s a GOOOOD BOY. You sound like Miserable Moyes with your condescending moaning and negativity so CUT IT OUT

      Huggs & kisses

      • Martin Treasure says:

        well said 🙂

      • Brooking4Mayor says:

There is no bullying at all the what so ever, but if he wants to say such controversial things without actually giving the guy a fair shout, then he should expect to be challenged on whatever he says. I’m not being negative, I’m stating facts and also standing up for one of our players that you lot are unfairly bashing considering he has only just returned. And it’s typical of this website to try and compare it to Moyes. There’s no respect here whatsoever, maybe if you guys were to cut it out and then I wouldn’t have to pull you up on it. I apologise to your Mum, but Gonzo has been a very naughty boy!

        • Mavded says:

As you stated it’s his opinion he is allowed to have it the same as you are allowed to disagree with it so stop being petty and just agree to disagree

      • Benny the Aussie says:

Ha ha Gold 🤣, on ya Mum

    • rollercoaster hammer says:

where does he say he expects you to believe it? it’s an opinion piece and you choose to agree or not. perhaps a few more books to improve ypur reading comprehension because i certainly hope you don’t expect us to agree with dross you just wrote ( i mean “moaned”)

      • Martin Treasure says:

Well thank you. Nothing further needed from me!

      • AlansDevonshireCream says:

I think Brooking4Mayor was trying to say Gonzo was a bit harsh in his opinion. Vlad was one of the players who returned late as he was on international duty, so he has not had the time some of the others have had to get up to speed and learn the new system and tactics. The others who played against Ferencvarosi and Daggers (lesser opposition) didn’t look too comfortable with things either and took a while to get to grips with it. So his point was that Gonzo’s judgement on Vlad was a bit unfair, and maybe Gonzo should have given him the benefit of the doubt and a little more time to acclimatise himself in training before he consigns him to the scrap heap. Especially considering he was playing against premier league opposition compared to the first two matches. I like Vlad, he has always given his all for us, and if you see how he has played previously for Prague and The Czech republic I have no doubt he will be able to play the role he is being asked.

      • Brooking4Mayor says:

Maybe you should aim the “perhaps a few more books to improve ypur reading comprehension” at yourself to help improve your spelling and your understanding of how big and little words are linked together to create sentences. Then if you link a few sentences together they make up a paragraph. I believe I actually wrote he was entitled to his opinion, as we all are. Opinions are given to be evaluated, so I evaluated his and gave my reasons why I thought it was an unfair opinion, only to be ganged up on by the obvious C&H fanboys! I really don’t know where your comment about “where does he say he expects you to believe it?” comes from, considering its an opinion and not a fact. To finish, you say and I quote “i certainly hope you don’t expect us to agree with dross you just wrote ( i mean “moaned”) You can agree or disagree with whatever you like, that’s your choice. But before criticising someone and telling them to read a few more books as an insult, maybe check your own spelling, grammar, syntax and levels of competence at wring first. You have proven you cant spell, you miss words out of sentences, you don’t understand how to use punctuation and you definitely don’t know when a capital letter should be used! Apart from that, you sound like quite a smart lad🤣

  • Jay says:

I can’t shake the feeling that AWB isn’t overly enthusiastic about joining us. While he can’t be expected to leave money in the table, if he was pushing for the move surely a compromise could be reached. Starting to worry that this negotiation will collapse.

  • mark wiggins says:

What are you saying , other sources say personal terms agreed it’s the structure of the deal that arn’t agreed . Man Utd expecting us to pay what they owe him . So where is the truth . AWB is the exact player we need

  • Dudley Tyler says:

In the end his agent is going to sit down and figure out a) what the player will earn staying at United and then leaving as a free agent next year with some sort of signing on bonus or b) moving to West Ham with this deal. Whichever of a) or b) is higher he will do. United are looking at a situation where they have a player for one year who will cost them his wages plus the lost transfer value if he leaves as a free agent. Probably around GBP 20 million+. Quite expensive for one season and so quite an incentive to get this through. West Ham are faced with having to find a replacement – but 18 million is a decent amount to go shopping for a full back with. Not really West Ham’s problem.

  • Pongo says:

Awb is, clearly just interested in money, and with that being his main point of interest no wonder utd want to get rid of him, he doesn’t play for the badge so in my opinion he would be better going to villa as they are also greedy b&, i no longer want him at West ham let’s go back and get kwp for 20 million he is, the better option as he is not greedy and provides more going forward. But we must get him and at least one more quality centre back to make us serious contenders for top six. And when we come across the greedy b& during negotiations we should instantly walk away for good. The world has gone, stark raving bonkers especially when it comes to the football transfer market players being quoted at more than twice the price they are worth. Well mark my words it will come back and bite the greedy clubs right on their arsed.

  • weathamsteve says:

I fear we have another Maguire situation here. You have tp pay a fee to sign on a player and now it seems you have to pay a player to leave.Never heard anything like it. I was never paid a fee when I changed companies.

  • Mark says:

He is reportedly on £90,000 a week at Manchester, yet WHU are paying some of their players more than that. In which case, how can they not match his wage aspirations?

    • Josphat says:

      Manchester city

    • Wes Tham says:

He has been on 90k the whole 5 years he’s been there, so he obviously wants a pay increase. He also wants to be paid some compensation by Man Utd the same as maguire wanted last year, so that’s where the stumbling block is. West Ham want Utd to pay the compo.

  • Pete says:

To be fair I am sick to death of the privileged Mancs. Everytime we try to deal with them there’s an issue, nothing gets resolved. Let’s crack on and wait for them to sort their over stuffed club out. They will be b……d leaving it late to horse trade.
We are in the optimum driving forward mode….. move on⚒️

  • Paul Roberts says:

I bet his agent wants a cut aswell

  • BrianMcAtear says:

    Greedy B*

  • Martin storrie says:

No Duran ( a young striker ), No full back, & most of all, No 2nd Central defender, that’s what we needed most
Hopefùlly have this sorted by time season starts.

  • Cueball says:

It does tend to make my blood boil when I hear wage demands are a stumbling block.

“You’ve offered me a stupid amount of cash but I’m holding out for ridiculous”.

What’s the problem, can’t afford to buy the misses her preferred run-about Lamborghini to go to the shops? Clubs are in trouble with new financial regulations but players and agents just want to squeeze every last drop, biting the hand that feeds!

Sod off and rot in the reserves for a season.

  • Anthony Price says:

This can only happen at Man U.T.D always the same old same old just like the Lingard scenario 😂🤣

  • Bonzo says:

Wan Bissakers agent is Will Salthouse which makes me think this is one that could eventually happen.
