Tim Steidten was seen on the official website alongside Jarrod Bowen after the player had signed a new deal as the technical director had been involved in working on details of the new contract.
The breakthrough had come when David Sullivan had a personal meeting with the No 20 last Tuesday from which his representatives had been excluded.
CandH was told the key moment but after that the chief executive had been joined by Steidten and the pair worked alongside each other as Bowen finally agreed to sign a near seven year deal
It made him the club’s top earner at £125,000 a week or £6.5 million a year and he could now be at West Ham until he is close to 33 years old.
And Steidten has now told the official site: “It’s a sign of the strong position the Club finds itself in when an England international is committing his long-term future to the football club.
“We’re delighted he’s signed a long-term deal and looking forward to him continuing to flourish at West Ham in the peak years of his career.”
