David Sullivan has come as close as it gets to declaring that Manuel Lanzini is the man for us now …and in the future.

Lanzini has been on fire since cementing his team and ClaretandHugh has explained regularly in recent stories that with an 8 million euros price agreed with his parent club Al Jaziera it’s now  a ‘given’ that he will sign  at the end of the term.

Sullivan explained on the official site: “We knew he was a fantastic player. Before he went to the UAE he was regarded as the next Messi in Argentina.

“We see him more as a Luka Modric who scores goals. He is improving with every game as he becomes match fit. He could turn out to be very special.”

The chairman’s words follow a recent David Gold tweer we reported in which he eplained that h’d be disappointed if two of the loanees didn’t sign and we explained they would be Lanzini and Alex Song.

Looking at the weekend game against Chelsea Sullivan points out the Irons look a decent bet at 7/2 for the win claiming they look even better with Jose Mourinho’s team having to travel to the Ukraine.

Let’s hope the price is indeed agreed and fixed now that we’ve revealed he was regarded in Argentina as the next messi.
