Sullivan keeping fingers crossed

|

LanzDavid Sullivan has his fingers crossed that Manu Lanzini is suffering only a “very short term injury”.

The chairman is keenly disappointed at the number of injuries players are suffering notably the new one involving Victor Moses.

He told the club’s official site: “Victor Moses also had to leave the pitch in the first half.

Hopefully Lanzini is a very short-term injury. Enner Valencia will hopefully be back in action in the near future and Payet and Sakho will be back in February.

“It will be great to get these top players back in action.”

I think the club needs to take a very hard look at why all these injuries keep occurring .
Payet aside which was an assault , most of these injuries are due to the player concerned breaking down either in play or during training . Are we really that unlucky ? Or is it down to something wrong with the training methods ? Bewildering !

Good job we have such a big and talented squad this year. the good thing is we had a lot of competition for places in midfield. I would be more worried If it was all the defenders injured like Last year and we were reduced to playing joey obrien at centre back. Remember we still have the team that played so well against Man U. And it’s also a chance for players like Antonio to get involved and maybe an opportunity for one or two of the youngsters waiting in the wings.

Yes, just reading that Lanzini is out for 6 weeks – bloody hell, has someone run over a black cat!
