Sullivan-speak starts early as Hammers are at it again

With Evan Ferguson reported to be on his way back to Brighton at the end of the season after a ‘disappointing’ loan spell, the Hammers have already indicated their striker recruitment is their top priority this summer.

Emanuel Emegha, linked today by givemesport.com, priced at ‘just’ £22 million would seem an opportunity where West Ham could actually see a positive outcome in the summer recruitment tug of war – the Strasbourg front man is a viable ‘Delap alternative’ and it is good to read that :”West Ham have been scouting Emegha ahead of the transfer window reopening for business in the summer…. and the east Londoners are contemplating whether to test Strasbourg’s resolve by upping the ante in their pursuit after he has been identified as an alternative to Delap.

The Claret and Hugh exclusive from yesterday regarding the interest in Samu Omorodion seems another case of West Ham tilting at windmills, instead of going after attainable strikers within the budget.

The Hammers are reported as being prepared to ‘break the club transfer record’ with a €60 million bid for the Porto striker already having been rejected. Just €20 million short. Remind you of anyone ? Jhon Duran part 3. Another lowball offer for a striker who the club couldn’t afford to buy in any case, but one which looks good in the transfer optics when it comes to telling supporters and season ticket holders how hard the club are trying to bring players in.

Either that or quite possibly a misplaced attempt at misdirection to divert attention whilst the club remain tight lipped about their real targets this summer. It’s very David Sullivan.

Maybe instead, just go for the players the club can afford. A host of decent Premier League quality strikers such as Liam Delap will be available this summer- Delap’s relegation release clause is set at £30 million we hear: So instead of the oft-repeated excuses for another stellar failure, maybe trying and succeeding to secure players within the club’s budget would be better received.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Sullivan just like Trump, the “art of the deal”. derisory bids, changing terms last minute, refusing to pay any agent unless its one of Salthouse, Silkman or Mackay, asking for £10 a week payment terms. All of this for Potter’s targets and then he brimgs in alternatives he wants yhru his agents who are “razzle dazzle” old, slow, high wages and no
    resale value

Sullivan loves Westham , however the spirit may be willing but the body may be weak . He’s very old and won’t be flying here , there and everywhere to personally convince players to sign . Add the fact that Westham are likely to finish as low as 17th with no Euro football and no top class players with ambition will be excited to come for another relegation dalliance .

Sullivan does NOT love West Ham. His ego loves the position. He is the 10 ton weight holding the club back with his moronic handling of the club. Relegation next season (again)

Can anybody answer a question for me please, is there time limit for responses to news posted on this site as my replies are subject to approval but don’t appear even though there is nothing offensive in any reply. Cheers

I’ll answer that. Once somebody posts abusive or offensive posts – or adds external links- their future comments are held until I get time to approve them manually. so you’ve obviously transgressed at some time. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and take you off the ‘naughty step’ – but please keep it clean and respectful.

I’ve got to the point now of dismissing anything that comes from the club ,ever heard the tale of the boy who cried wolf well that’s what I think when Sullivan is involved how many times does he think he put this crap out and expects the fans to swallow it , absolute Muppet

  • John Harrison says:

Nice of the club to help rehabilitate Ferguson for next season. Brighton must be very grateful. I read somewhere that Jack has been urging his dad to sign Delap. Hope he’s listening.

    • Kip says:

That’s exactly what I said …what a waste of money and time..how thick are they ..they paid to get him nice and fit for Brighton to keep or sell …how anyone can say he has been disappointing is beyond me ….how can he have been ..he’s not played!!!!…he’s just got fit using our facilities..😆
Like dortmund mugged us of with sick note now Brighton are laughing like fk thinking great had them.over a barrel….honestly it beggar’s belief how bad and unprofessional our board are at conducting buisness….absolute idiots they really are …what on earth was the point in loaning him

  • John Ayris says:

Sullivan is deranged the stuff we’re supposed to believe. Why should we think that the Summer window won’t have it’s fiascos like always, at least we shouldn’t need a Lopetgui this time around.

  • Kip says:

With respect they said a forward was there top priority the last 3 years ..and with sullivan bsck on transfers it will be an absolute circus….mark my words ..as usual he will low ball everything and piss clubs of as usual and they won’t do buisness with us …AGAIN..

  • Whippet hammer says:

We need a striker, Delap is ‘proven’. If he’s available for 30m, get him and stop the crap.
Move on with other targets and make it functional.
Unfortunately the West Ham Chuckle Brothers of Sullivan and Brady are now involved, so there’s zero chance of transfer window sanity breaking out.
