During West Ham United’s Premier League draw against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, Hammers chairman David Sullivan was pictured seated alongside football agent Will Salthouse. As the TV cameras panned to the directors’ box, the controversial agent was seen deep in conversation on his mobile phone while Sullivan looked suspiciously at a monitor displaying the game.
The pair’s relationship has been frequently discussed over the years at West Ham, and it’s fair to assume that Salthouse is one of Sullivan’s favoured agents.
It could simply be a case of two old friends meeting up before Christmas. However, as festive and lovely as that may seem, it’s far more likely the two were discussing West Ham’s potential transfer activity.
Salthouse has facilitated a number of deals and represents current Hammers players, so perhaps his presence at the weekend’s fixture was just business as usual. Nonetheless, Claret & Hugh have been told directly by the club that they are looking to bring in a top-level centre-forward during this transfer window. I wonder if Salthouse has been asked to help find one.
The less said about Niclas Füllkrug’s first start in an Irons shirt, the better. But with Michail Antonio side-lined through injury for the foreseeable future, West Ham’s need for a new striker is glaringly obvious.
Salthouse may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but he did help bring in Aaron Wan-Bissaka during the summer, so it hasn’t all been bad. And before anyone gets overly worried about links to Marcus Rashford… he is represented by his brother, Dwaine Maynard
That’s a player or a manager ringing Salthouse to tell him they’re watching the game and there changed their mind about coming to West Ham.
Which one is the Organ Grinder and which one the Monkey? Bloody agents… the Circus never left town Nobes.
Oh my god no, he was the one who gave Sullivan the idiot manager who should be sacked. We have Tim for things like that. Sullivan should be giving j lo his P45 as he hasn’t got a clue.
I’ve given up. I didn’t even bother going to the last 3 homes games. F**k my season ticket I don’t care no more. This is what Sullivan has done to so many of us. We will never go forward with this clown. So many must win games that ain’t been won but JLO is still there. I will give up my season ticket let at the end of the season after 40 years because I can’t take these clowns no more. Thieving our money every week, extortionate drinks fees and man handled to the station is enough.
West Ham died the day they left Upton Park
So this is the face behind many of our failures of the last few years
Sullivan effectively implementing constructive dismissal for Steidten.
Sullivan never wanted a DOF but placated some board members like Kretinski. He has been quick to get recruitment back and will point to Fullkrug as Steidtens failure to justify it. He will forget the 53 failed strikers he has brought in of course. Narcissism cannot be reasoned with. We cannot progress with Sullivan as owner it is inpossible.
….. and there lies the problem for all to see!
So the unofficial DOF Salthouse is at it again with the gimp looking on at the carnage he caused this season . What a disorganised, malfunctioning, mess he’s created. Why have a DOF when the chairman goes out of he’s way to undermine him. This club is a joke. The day can’t come quick enough for the prick to sell up and go.
Totally agree!! It has west ham central on my birth certificate. My dad took me to watch my first game at Upton Park when i was 9 in 1955!! Also watched West ham win the Cup Winners Cup in 1965 at Wembley stadium. Half of me wants W Ham to lose and get rid, and the other half wants W Ham to win!!
Given that it was Will Salthouse who recommended Lopetegui to Sullivan you would think that Sullivan would not be using him again. It would be better if he stayed out of all footballing matters at West Ham.
So what is the point of having Tim Steidten as DOF then?
Precisely
