Whether Fulham can be persuaded to part with their ‘number two’ striker Rodrigo Munoz will be open to debate and largely dependent upon how much West Ham are prepared to stump up. He is one of the few names mooted this January who actually excites.
The right age profile at 23, the Brazilian striker’s failure to get match time at Craven Cottage behind Raul Jimenez will be seen as the major factor influencing his own decision to move across London. The determining factor for Fulham is less easy to define.
Thestandard.co.uk reported last night that :”West Ham turn to Fulham star as striker search ramps up“:
Not sure why the Cottagers would want to part with the player they bought from Flamenco for peanuts in 2021. Unless the lure of a big, fat cash profit for their own PSR stats is too good to ignore.
Which isn’t good news for West Ham as it means they’ll be faced with a big price – whether on loan or outright purchase – and a ‘take it or leave it’ stance from Fulham. Maybe West Ham’s admission that the Hammers bid £40 million for Jhon Duran now looks a bit naive as it shows the club’s hand and how much is on the table for a striker just now.
It’ll be no surprise, then, to see Fulham ratcheting up Muniz’ asking price this month to an eye watering level – after all, the West London club don’t need to sell, West Ham need to buy. Looks like West Ham might be about to be squeezed ‘until the pips squeak’.
I read that somewhere as well, they’re looking for a striker, can’t believe it but I’m pretty sure the cunning plan is to wait until the last day of the window and then pounce with a remarkably low offer for a player the selling will inevitably turn down and a reliable club source will say it’s so hard to do deal’s in January and we weren’t willing to overpay for a player and we’re happy with the squad we have! Always the West Ham way under our majority share holder! It’s great when you get old as a lifetime Hammer you just become an ultra cynic!
Muniz has a record of less than a goal every 6 games. Why on earth is he even being considered?
Because he’s 23, knows where the goal is, already settled in London and can hit the ground running! I think of the various player’s we’ve been connected with he’s probably the easiest to integrate and from Silver’s demeanor he probably has an attitude issue similar to Duran! Hopefully, he’ll only cost half of Duran’s valuation and if he’s successful his value will increase unlike the majority of player’s signed by Moyes and Lopetegui!
If he knows where the goal is, he’s treated it with remarkable disdain mate. Not for me thanks.
It’s our own poor decisions that squeeze us until the pips squeak. We should have gone in for Gyokeres when Steidten wanted to when he was £17M at Coventry but it was decided against. Then we should have paid the bit extra for Steidten pick Duran when he was close to £40M but it was decided against – Go and get cheaper option Fullkrug instead.
Either of those things would probably mean that we either had no interest in Munoz now or would be rolling in money so as whatever he cost wouldn’t be an issue. Our own diabolical decisions squeeze our own pips.
Problems at any clubs are normally common knowledge, that’s what media does for you.
Moyes and Potter both need a striker no secret about that.
It appears money is tight at both clubs.
Who will win the race? Or will they both end up empty handed.
Muniz looks to be well suited (much more than other speculative names) don’t think Fulham will release him.
14 days until the question is answered.
We are not going to be relegated,We should just stick with what we have got to the end of the season
Then make a 30 mil bid for Rory delap his young scores goals got pace and will only get better
Whoops sorry, fella, Rory Delap is even older than what we’ve got! His boy is Liam…
Maybe you lot need to stop reporting a load of **** with your so called “insiders” you know as much as we do and only guess.
All this **** has to stop or else we look a joke.
Why not work with the club and try and not make who we after public…not rocket science is it Martin!
Any truth we are trying to buy Daniel Cummings from Celtic?
Only 18 same as Guillherme. One for the future?
one for the future, I’d say, 18 y/o, as an u21 option atm
And it’s being advertised literally everywhere that West Ham have loads of injuries and are desperate for a striker.
