David Sullivan reacting to a tough opening game at Arsenal but feels the Irons are good enough to create a surprise.
He said: “It couldn’t be a tougher start for us than Arsenal away. Since we have been back in the Premier League we have have never got a point from Arsenal but often it is a good time to play the top sides early on in the season.
Speaking to the official site he added: “We have some really tough away games early on and some must win home games. So its an exciting and challenging start and hopefully we are still in Europe at that time.
“The final ever game at the Boleyn Ground against Swansea on May 7 will be emotional for everyone at the club. As a fan I know how hard it is going to be.
“I think it will be very special throughout the season as we honour the Academy and have some of the old legends coming back as part of our line-up. It will be emotional and sad but we have such exciting times ahead with the move to the new Stadium.”
Dont start getting doubts already Kev.You are a new man,you saw the light.Keep that 100w bulb burning bright 😀
Lol,i am optimistic for the coming season.Tbh if we finished 10th in Slavs first season thats fine by me if it is done with a little bit more flair than the last couple of seasons.I need to enjoy watching the irons, not get bored to tears.I know football is a business now & place pots are big but i need to see it down with some enjoyment, not robot football 😀
What I find disturbing is ” West Ham world ” predicting 39 pts ., with relegation a real threat .
And Bilic saying he is looking for a top ten finish …. That’s what we had for the last few seasons ,, surely there must be more Hope than that !!.
Really hoping for a top 6 finish ,,, not asking or expecting more … 55 pts would be more than fantastic . …. But being a Hammers Fan , well you know what I mean !!.
Lol… Kevin have you got a twin? 😀
Haha, bleedin’ hell Kev,this new positive Champagne Kev is something i am still struggling with getting used to,haha 😀
What a Great start to the season ,,, it’s worry a Wenger time … Good to get this one out of the way so quickly …. The even better news is that , the start of the second half of the season we are at Home … Knees up mother brown , knees up brother brown .
Come on you Hammers .
Even if we lose sod it, get the harder teams done and out the way first then concentrate on the job at hand
Gold said the same last season about going to the Emirates to give it a real good go & fancied our chances.Unfortunately he forgot to tell hippo 😉
Last team to win at highbury & first team to win at the emerites
We can do it again, we will be flying after an early start in the Europa league & they will be sluggish after a boozy summer in the sun.. Easy
Note: even if we do get Jenks resigned he won’t be available.. We need 2 RB’s – hopefully Slaven or Tony have some good ideas
Well we shocked them last year, by having a bagpuss Manager who just sat and chewed gum whilst his team camped in their half all game, even after going down by a goal on half time they showed no spirit (except Ginge – who was regularly outclassed by their CF) so things can only get better under super slav . . .
Haha we used that tactic quite a lot last season, amazing it didn’t work really lol
But we kept using it regardless
That was Plan A lol
Oh and if you could fit a couple of signings in that’d be much appreciated lol
That’s the spirit DS let’s start the season with a bang!
