Sullivan: “We deserved more from Everton”

|

sullivan_5535cDavid Sullivan has sent a “we move on” message to the Irons fans after the disappointing defeat at Everton.

The co-chairman steered clear of the obvious first goal controversy and the edgy nature of the game but was clearly frustrated at the outcome.

And like most other neutrals he believes the Irons are likely to have come out victorious had they not been hit with injuries to our best players.

Speaking exclsusively to ClaretandHugh, he said: “They came to five new arrivals who have been performing so well. It’s an unfortunate situation for the club.

“Having said that  we deserved more from the Everton match and had we had our two first first choice strikers I think we would have won, but we move on'”

Spot on sir! Our first team would have made short work of what is an average toffees team.

Oh and a decent ref wouldn’t have gone a miss either!
Lukaku was miles offside for the first goal and some of their tackling was a disgrace especially when we were on top in the second half.

The treatment of amilfitano was borderline criminal and how McCathy stayed on is beyond me! The same applies to Naismith’s “tackle” on noble! ( Mark is now out injured while Naismith gets off scott free).
Merrilles can count himself a lucky boy too. If it wasn’t for tonka’s terrible play acting he should have gone for the tackle an then the push!(1xred or 2xyellow).

But it wouldn’t be the first time a West Ham team that was trying to play football was kicked off the park without any protection from the ref!
Our history is unfortunately littered with such instances!
