Summer window business goes on ‘hold’

|

West Ham’s summer window transfer business is likely to be on hold for some while yet – certainly until the Euros are close to, or indeed, over.

With David Moyes fully involved as a technical director/consultant in the competition there will be little going on for a while yet as the tournament gets into serious action.

And any player targets who may arise as a result of their performances in the competition will not be disturbed regarding club switches until their involvement in the tournament until it closes.

In reality the vast majority of window business doesn’t happen until; the last couple of weeks anyway and boss David Moyes has never been the quickest off the mark.

At the same time the club are hopeful that a new investor will appear to ensure they get the targets they want to ensure we are covered for our Euro League challenge.

Imho this is a load of rubbish, Moyes will have identified his targets before the Euro’s and won’t be chopping and changing them on the whim of a good championship as has been mentioned numerous times he does his research over months not just a few good games. Not saying that we will get them in during the window because that is down to a lot of factors but that the Chairmen will be doing work in the background to try and get a deal done early.

Known as a ditherer that loses our I expect he hasn’t changed. Only reason to wait is in case of injurys so theres few who that can be over the line

If by “ditherer”, you mean a careful steward of transfer budget, then I’d take his “dithering” all day long, rather than the incompetence we’ve had in the dugout over the last two or three decades (Curbishley aside). I’ll also take his “dithering” over the approach to transfers taken by most managers. Very few, outside of those managing clubs that are financially-doped and/or competing regularly in the Champions League, get transfers right as often as the “ditherer” has done since he took over at Everton in the early 2000s.
Worth taking the time to take a look at his record of bringing players in and fitting them in to a well-defined playing style, rather than toeing the same line that the media pundits were trotting out until recently.

Totally agree…….. Pragmatic…Yes (needed and long overdue at this club)….
But Ditherer… I’d like someone to explain what exactly that means??? …
Maybe the Crash, Bang, Wallop and the excitement it creates when it all goes wrong would be better… Or maybe it’s simply the repeating of a word read or overheard which has been bandied about by malicious types in the media and it kind of sounds good.
Do any of these people make decisions that require thought and assessment in their daily lives or is it all Gung Ho!
I do hope this “Dithering” nonsense is now dead and buried.

If we bring in 3/5 players I bet his list is about 30 players in total. Hate the waiting but the window is open for ages yet.
