West Ham United fans, buckle up! In a transfer rumour so outlandish it borders on comical, popular football Twitter account Futbol de Inglaterra claims the Hammers expressed interest in Kylian Mbappe.
Kylian Mbappe, widely regarded as the best player on the planet, recently completed a “free” transfer to Real Madrid, sending shockwaves through the football world.
Despite being available without a transfer fee, West Ham, according to Futbol de Inglaterra, were one of four Premier League clubs interested in signing Mbappe, alongside Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool.
While the notion seems far-fetched, West Ham showing interest isn’t necessarily outlandish. Every club has the right to take a shot, no matter how improbable.
Perhaps the Hammers were hoping Alphonse Areola would put a good word in with his France teammate Mbappe.
One thing’s undeniable: Mbappe would have been a monumental upgrade over Danny Ings.
