Do you ever wake up on a Sunday morning and lie there for five minutes fantasising about what life would be like, winning last night’s lottery? Yes, me too. Let’s play the ‘West Ham Lottery’ variant and pretend – just for a second – that David Sullivan removed West Ham’s head coach late last night after I’d long since stopped reading my news feeds and has installed Mark Noble to lead the training for the international break – whilst a new coach is installed in time for the matches against Newcastle Leicester and Wolves.
Excited yet? I am .
Wow, will it be Mourinho? Potter? Terzic? Does it matter? Yes of course, but the identity of ‘whom’ is not important this morning. The fact that our Chairman put club before cash and sacked his choice for head coach, showing humility in making such a mammoth error in the original appointment would be a watershed moment for our club: You could almost feel West Ham were ‘growing up’ rather than just ploughing on to save face and the six million it would cost to pay Lopetegui off.
Now – open your eyes. Back to reality. That dream is over.
We face a season of of un-intelligeble press conferences, hopelessly out- manoeuvred midfields and talent played out of position. Ageing strikers and multiple bans and suspensions to look forward to: The only good thing is that we’re all in it together.
There is no escape. Claret and Blue in the blood is a lifelong affliction I’m afraid. So, nurse that Hammers hangover, grab some coffee and ‘endure’ it all. – Its what we do best.
COYI
Lopetegui has to go. There’s been no improvement this season at all, apart from buying players sooner, not just on deadline day. And his style is almost the same as Moyes.
Get another head coach who can use the talent we have here and play some more flowing attacking football for a change, it’s not rocket science.
Martin, some things you shouldn’t even joke about, so please stop throwing Mourinho’s name into the potential candidate hat, someone just might take that as public acceptance.
Mark Noble as interim manager though, that could be interesting.
Spoken like a True (claret and) Blue!
I don’t think Sullivan realises, I have friends who stopped going a few years back and once you stop you don’t come back
Endure is correct!…I am thoroughly going to enjoy the next two weeks!…Because of other commitments i wont be at Arsenal either!..So im good…
It shouldn’t be like this tho….I have had a season ticket for over thirty years.
The money and time i have spent is now being questioned for the very first time.
I’m not the only one ..I cant argue with any of the predictions that i read regarding Sullivan.
The thing is they have so many first time football fans that can get a ticket at the LS.
My money and time mean nothing…How long before endurance turns to apathy ..And then to i cant be bothered?
A considerable amount of my season ticket mates renewed in the hope for bigger and better things!
Like you they’re all suffering watching the dire state of affairs at the LS. The majority have had enough.
Even when they can’t go and offer me freebies like the Everton game, I’m not interested in wasting money on train fare, beer and food. It’s not entertainment it’s pure torture.
Italian fans are brilliant at protesting both in and out their grounds!
AC Milan proved it by vetoing JLo becoming their manager! They also boycott the first 20 mins of games to make a point to owners.
As West Ham don’t turn up to the 2nd half, this could be a pointed reminder to Sully at how empty the LS will be in the future.
Money is all he is interested in!
Lets not forget that this was against Everton who are poor themselves. We are not improving, there is no sign of it. I was hoping that it would work but it very obviously is not. To my eyes it’s only a matter of sooner or later now with the sooner the better from the perspective of giving a new manager maximum possible time.
It’s a complete car crash mate! 🤦♂️
Successful clubs have a good structure and are fully aligned ….. owners, director of football, recruitment team and manager.
City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Villa and Brighton prove it!
Clubs that are not don’t reach their full potential. This is seen at Man Utd, Chelsea, Spurs, and recently Newcastle too.
Until we are 🇨🇿 owned or a new ambitious individual saves us from the ludicrous appointments by Sully we will remain a banter club.
I’m hoping Sully changes but history doesn’t bode well for our future.
I wake up and then read Lopetegui has been sacked, have an afternoon kip and then read that David Sullivan is stepping down from the club…….bliss.
I can dream!
The reality is Tim is sacked. Sully keeps JLo until after the January window, we are 17th and then Moyes returns 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Poison dwarf doesn’t care, he doesn’t post compo to managers. Either to get or get rid
Hmmm, more chance of being struck by thunder than Lopetegui being sacked ☹️
And just like my dreams they fade and die.
