Super Sunday brings maximum Irons interest

payet3How long is it since we have looked forward to a Sunday in which the Irons are not involved as much as the Saturday afternoon when they were?

How long is it since we have been able to talk Europe, Europe and more Europe rather than looking over our shoulders at the relegation places at this time of the year?

Yesterday’s win was brilliant with some of the second half football as good as anything we have seen from our fab team this season.

It was notable for me when Dimi Payet, for the first time in a while, really ran at defenders, beat his man and laid on a wonderful pass which allowed Andy Carroll to supply Noble’s goal assist.

That ensured we lifted ourselves into fifth place and today we become Swansea supporters at lunchtime and cheer on Leicester City.

Swansea can do us a favour by beating Liverpool which would ensure that Liverpool remain four points behind us whilst the Foxes can become champions and ensure we remain ahead of Manchester United on goal difference.

These are very special times – this time last season we had been in freefall for weeks and weeks so our position this year is beyond remarkable.

To be in this position is something I never imagined I would see in my lifetime and today’s feast of football is very special because it all has a direct effect on the mighty Irons.

The remaining fixtures for ourselves, Man U and Liverpool show how tight it’s all going to be:

West Ham

Swansea City (home)

Manchester United (home)

Stoke City (away)

Possible points tally: 68

Man U

Leicester City (home)

Norwich City (away)

West Ham (away)

Bournemouth (home)

Possible points tally 71

Liverpool

Watford (home)

Chelsea (home)

WBA (away)

Possible points tally 64

  1. Happy Days!!! 😀

  2. Be careful what you wish for,we still should have kept Hippoheads stability to lead us into the OS.The board had a shocker bringing in Bilic,he had no experience of Prem management was always doomed from day one, haha 😉

  3. You are correct Rad,we should have kept Fats lol. This is just the season we needed to dispel this myth that we needed to keep him. Many fans with egg on their faces now who said we must keep him for the season before the move because we couldn’t afford to be relegated Lmao.Even more funny are the fans who slammed us after losing to B’mouth & Leicester saying we should have never have got rid of Fatty. The same ones now w#nking themselves silly about Slaven lol 😀

  4. What you mean like Kev on here who officially retracted his support of Slaven after we lost to Bournemouth & The Foxes & cried for Hippo to return, haha. What a man of vision Kevin is 🙂

  5. lol… I noticed on ebay it’s possible to buy a West Ham t-shirt with “Be careful what you wish for” printed on it… I bought 500 and I sent them to our twin site, I hope they enjoy my gift… lol 😉

    • Lol,but they all wanted him gone didn’t they Matte, well that’s their word on it now.We were just Rabid Dogs for wanting him out while they gave him their dynamic support 😉

  6. I think Liverpool have 4 games left so their possible points tally is 67 points.

  7. Good start. Swansea already 2-0 up v a Weakened Liverpool side. Swansea well worth their two goal lead, could have been 3 or 4.

  8. Yeah 4 including today at Swansea John, but they are already 2-0 down, haha,so maybe it could be a max of 64 😉

  9. Well last time we worried about relegation was under Avram Grant and last time we thought about Europe was last season but let’s not talk about that.
