Sutton has no faith in Hammers

Chris Sutton has made his feelings clear on West Ham  and is refusing to back the team for a win or even a draw at Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.

Sutton has no faith in Hammers

You need a lot of faith to back a team that was thrashed O-6 on its last appearance and whilst the players might talk about bouncing back those are mere words.

And Sutton makes it quite clear it’s not about clicking your fingers and making in happen. Six is one hell of a beating.

The BBC pundit has rarely backed the Hammers to win a game this season and rightly points out that Forest need a victory as badly as us.

And its the midlands team that gets his vote believing they will win by the odd goal in three at the City Ground.

It’s pretty difficult to disagree with his reasoning as he explains that neither side has managed one in the league in 2024 – and this is a hard one to call.

He wrote on the BBC website: The usual way of thinking with West Ham would be to ask if they are going to bounce back from their 6-0 home defeat by Arsenal.

I am going to say they won’t. We know David Moyes‘ teams have been resilient in the past but I can’t back anyone who has been beaten that heavily the previous week – it is not just a case of clicking your fingers and turning it around.

The Hammers surely can’t be lax as they were against Arsenal, but I am going with Nottingham Forest to find a way through.

Sutton’s prediction: 2-1
