Suzuki Back in the Frame as West Ham Deliver Transfer Update

West Ham have thrown cold water over reports suggesting the club has made an official offer for Leicester City goalkeeper Mads Hermansen.

Last night, talkSPORT’s Alex Crook and Ben Jacobs claimed that an approach had been made—claims that were also supported by our own trusted transfer sources.

The Hammers are believed to have narrowed their goalkeeper shortlist down to just two names: Zion Suzuki and Hermansen. The Danish keeper appeared to be the more realistic option, with Parma reportedly keen to keep Suzuki for at least another season, while Leicester are looking to sell following relegation.

However, this morning a London Stadium source told Claret & Hugh that Hermansen is “a player of interest, but not top of the priority list.”

This could be an attempt to deflect attention while the club works to close a deal—or it might suggest Suzuki is back in the frame. There’s also the possibility that West Ham are negotiating for both, especially as we were told earlier this week by a well-placed source that the Hammers are “bidding for multiple players now.”

It’s also worth noting that a top club insider told ExWHUEmployee that signing a new goalkeeper had become a priority—even before Wes Foderingham’s error in the friendly against Everton.

So while the public message might be cautious, don’t rule anything out just yet.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Keeper has to be a priority at this stage. After we get our number 1 then we can focus on midfield and if we have any pennies left we can look for a striker to support Fullkrug ahead of Marshall. Ideally we sell soucek and add 20m to the transfer budget, how on earth is Moyes not begging us for him considering the state of Everton atm.

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Hermanson is supposedly still recovering from the groin surgery so how likely is it that we are likely to be signing him before he is fully recovered ?

Suzuki would be an interesting signing though if rumours are correct he is holding out for a club with better prospects than ours. With the midfielder we currently seem to think is first choice it’s hard to see us finishing above midtable

  • Benny the Aussie says:

It makes sense having both options on the table.
It does make it laughable that when Itialian sides some for our players they offer pittance but when we come calling, it’s a ransom

  • Paul Basnett says:

Despite having finance available without selling players (not true it seems) and having more than half of the Kudus money still available we still have only signed one player and one on a free.
Day after day goes by with links and rumours but nothing happens.
It’s the most amateur transfer window I can remember for quite a while given the need to rebuild the squad.

Zion Suzuki looks like he’s wearing a judicial wig in that photo! 😂
Let’s hope West Ham make the right judgement between the two goalkeepers…

This is the big promblem with our club We dont set our sights on one player then go and get them Suzuki by the way is in advanced talks with Man U Hermansen will probably see these reports and think up YOURS W Ham you dont really want me So here we go could go back to square one Start thinking a bit smarter grow up start acting like a prem side professionally shoud be otherwise we will be stuck in this circle of failure
