Swaggering Fletcher an Irons future star

|

Ashley-Fletcher-685012Slovacko 2 Irons 2

Well it was what it was – a training match in the sun with probably less thn 1,000 watching.

On that basis alone maybe we should dismiss the result. On the other hand perhaps we shouldn’t because to lose two goals very late on shouldn’t happen at any level of the game and there can be little doubt we were pretty naive at the back and  fell asleep believing the game was won. Not good enough!

OK, this was hardly a first team but none the less we need to be concerned at some of the shabbier stuff we saw in those closing seconds.

By and large we were by far the better side and the showing in the second half of the newly signed Ashley Fletcher who plays with a real swagger was my big feature. He is going to become an Irons star of the future. Mark my words.

He scored a very clever header from a great Domingos Quita cross who himself supplied some  fancy footwork and stepovers and looks an outstanding prospect.

With Sofiane Feghouli an ever present danger in the first half we looked a handful. Wouldn’t it have been nice if we’d seen the job out.

Mark Noble had scored the opener having been cleverl picked out  by Martin Samuelsen and Sam Byram was steady on the right side of defence.

Tomorrow however, comes a real test when we play Russian outfit Rubin Kazn who are nobody’s mugs and one imagines the big guns will be on show as we build towards the season.

Today, however, was a disappointment and we will be looking for a tighter display as we build towards those important Europa games.

Quita stole the show for me today. He is a real prospect! As is Fletcher. Feghouli looked really good. Shame for Spiegel, I think any capable goalkeeper would of kept both them out. Both over his head and his hands just wasn’t quick enough.

Quits looks like easy for the 1st team now just like Oxford and Samulsun,I wonder how long they will have to wait,
Fletcher now should be on a role any forward that scores will keep scoring,
Feghouli looks like he will be keeping Antonio at right back with the displays so far,
At least Noble is still going for goal as he did at the end of last season,he could turn into a Lampard if he works hard enough

I think Feghouli and Carroll will work really well together.

You say Quina I sat Quita but it was my iPad correction sorry but you knew what I ment get a life,
Feghouli will surply plenty of good balls but you need to be on the pitch to take advantage,
Let’s hope we get a fit CF before the season starts,
Do feel a bit sorry for Antonio because if Fegs is fit he will have to make RB his own,
Aymara do you think the young lad is ready how ever you spell it or am I dreaming, sorry aykay just my iPad again
