West Ham are reportedly considering Jonathan Tah again, the highly regarded defender who is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. The club’s sporting director, Tim Steidten, has a personal connection with Tah from their time together at Bayer Leverkusen.
Jonathan Tah has publicly announced his intention to leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season. He is seeking a new challenge and a fresh start.
“I’m not going to sign a new deal at Bayer Leverkusen. My decision is made,” Tah told Suddeutsche Zeitung.
“I will give my best until the end here and then we will see about my future club.
“But my decision is to go and try different experience
West Ham has been linked with Tah every time there seems to be a transfer window and that was long before Steidten was even appointed by the Hammers.
Inevitably the Irons will face competition from other clubs interested in signing Tah, as his free agent status make him an attractive target for many teams.
Nevertheless, If the Irons can successfully sign Jonathan Tah, he could make a significant impact on the team’s defence. Tah is a talented defender with experience playing at the highest level, he would provide leadership, stability, and quality to our ever expanding backline.
I think we already have a gentlemans agreement to sign tah. That’s why we are only looking to bring in a temporary fourth choice centre back.
Gentleman’s agreement, really?
