West Ham‘s transfer window activity has been a whirlwind, with links to a staggering number of players. But as the dust settles, who will they realistically target? While some targets are considered essential, others are riskier propositions, like the recently linked Tammy Abraham.

The former Chelsea striker, valued at £17-21 million by Roma with two years left on his contract, is reportedly keen on a Premier League return. However, Abraham’s past ACL injury raises concerns. Though recovered, he struggles for playing time in Italy. Is he a gamble worth taking for West Ham?

The Hammers’ history with injury-prone signings is concerning. Logically, Abraham seems like a risky choice.

However, a fit Abraham at £20 million could be a steal, especially considering Chelsea’s valuation of similarly ACL injured Armando Broja. The price reflects the risk, but West Ham may not have the luxury of being overly cautious.

As in most things in life, you often get what you pay for. Abraham’s price reflects the gamble involved. While West Ham’s history of signing crocks make them hesitant, their situation might necessitate taking calculated risks. Abraham could be a high-reward, high-risk signing, and we will have to see if Lopertugui will take a punt.
