Taylor’s an eight mile hero

TaylorWe all know that boss Sam Allardyce loves a stat or ten and his latest figures make Matt Taylor a Hammers hero!

The boss keeps records of every single issue surrounding his players and he is inordinately proud of the midfielder after his effort against Southampton.

Writing in his London Evening Standard column  he declares that Taylor ran  1,962m ( mile and a quarter) at high intensity totalling 13.62km (just over eight miles) over 90 minutes — more than anyone else.

Sam said: “He epitomises the application and the determination which all our players have demonstrated in recent weeks.”

Meanwhile the manager said he was loving his Carroll or Cole problem for the match against Everton.

He said: “Andy Carroll’s back following his unjustified  ban but does he go straight back in?

“Winston Reid’s fit again but will he have to wait? It’s a great problem for me and one I’ve not had for most of this season.
