“Terminate His Contract” | January Transfer Best for Everyone

West Ham midfielder Guido Rodriguez has instructed his representatives to explore if there is any chance he could return to La Liga side Real Betis this season.

The revelation comes after the Argentinian World Cup winner admitted he’s struggling to adapt to the Premier League. The news will not surprise anyone at the club or even Hammers fans, who have seen Rodriguez struggle to adjust to the pace and intensity of the English game since his free transfer this summer.

It should be noted that Rodriguez is not agitating for a move or refusing to play. The Hammers have a good relationship with Betis, having sold Pablo Fornals last season, and a loan deal could be a possible option.

If no agreement can be reached, Rodriguez will continue to give 100% for West Ham whenever selected, with a training ground source revealing to C&H that the player is ‘extremely professional’.

However, it could be that a parting of the ways might suit both Rodriguez and West Ham, with the club looking to create space within the squad and wage structure. The midfielder is not expected to make unreasonable demands, and it would seem that terminating the player’s contract in the January transfer window could suit both sides.

Let him rot in the under 21’s till end of the season

  • Hugh Jarse says:

    Him and liability Alvarez, bye

  • Matt says:

Who signed JLo?? Time to take a look at yourself Sully instead of using propaganda against Tim

  • Matt says:

Just terminate JLo’s contract! He was responsible for signing this flop and the mess we are in!

  • David Moyes says:

    We need a takeover……..
Sullivan is the cause of all our problems…
We will always be a nearly club whilst he is running the show…..
We desperately needed a younger progressive coach to take this club forward, if only someone like Reuben Amorin had been available in the summer with a pacy young forward available someone like that Duran at Villa, wait a minute, they were available ? Shut the backdoor…
Exactly, the problem is Sullivan, always going for the cheap option and at the moment if he doesn’t pull the trigger on this Spanish muppet then we are going down…….
Lopetegui has picked these midfielders, discarded our youngsters and has made our team regress badly this season and that’s down to Sullivan going cheap as usual by putting Lopetegui there in the first place.
Add into the fact that this little pygmy ruined our club by taking us away from Upton Park.

    • Matt says:

Kretinsky will probably sit back until the highly dubious £800m Brady valuation drops when we drop to the Championship to buy out Sully!

  • Phil Baker says:

LOSEpetegui blames Steidten for poor signings but nobody including LOSEpetegui himself has a clue which tactics to implement making the appropriate signings almost impossible to achieve . Better to have an average coach with a solid tactical plan that can easily be understood by the squad . Look at all the other Premier League squads and Westham are top 8 for sure .

Get Potts and Earthy back from loans, they’re so close to being ready, just need a few games at the top level I reckon. Job done!

  • Hammersmiff says:

Rodriguez isn’t the answer although I think he’s definitely improved with game time. JWP has had more than enough game time to prove himself, he’s not the answer either. Unfortunately, Soler doesn’t appear to be the answer and Alvarez is a total liability.
We so desperately need some quality and pace in central midfield, Soucek is seriously slow and so is Paqueta. All this seems pretty obvious to those who pay to watch it every week but it appears to have escaped the notice of the people at the club who are paid a f******* fortune to recruit and coach players.

  • Theydon Bois Dave says:

    Swap him for Fornals

  • HammerDan says:

Madness that JWP is out on loan in the first place. It’s like we are trying to help other Peem teams to finish above us!!

What other sort of business does this utter madness?

  • DJ says:

JWP isn’t good enough. No one else really went for him when we bought him, and he can’t get in Forest’s team regularly. After a few early assists his contribution dried up- he offers very little going forwards in free play (not just an opinion, check the stats).
By all means move Rodriguez on to free up wages, but JWP is a backward step.

  • Prowseys Mum says:

There’s a player at Forest called James Ward Prowse that has plenty of energy, is good at pressing and takes great set pieces. I think we should go after him.

    • Matt says:

Passes sideways, is slow, didn’t work out in the middle with Soucek but good at corners. Nice one Moyes 🤦‍♂️

  • S says:

Let him go back in January and recall JWP.
    Instant improvement.
