Jhon Duran is understood to have agreed personal terms with West Ham United ahead of his move away from Aston Villa. This follows breaking news last night that the Hammers were close to agreeing on a deal for the rampaging striker with a final bid approaching £40M.
The 20-year-old is set to leave the Midlands for the London Stadium, with the two clubs in advanced talks over the mega transfer which has been a drawn out affair.
Duran is reported to have agreed to a £90,000-a-week deal with West Ham, and all three parties expect the deal to get done without a hiccup.
The Colombian forward is West Ham’s number one target and has been putting pressure on Villa to allow him to move to East London, and he hasn’t been too subtle about it.
He is expected to travel straight to America to join up with his new teammates upon completing his Hammers medical.
I remember a certain Italian signing for us with the terms arrogant, selfish and a trouble maker Paulo done ok though so come on Jhon
How can any west ham fan go on about players with attitudes how many have we had and are now legends its about time we had players with attitudes you never know it may make us a better side like it has done before
WTF?!?
Has this guy proved himself at a level even close to the PL??
What with Toney et alles?
That said, for the Hammers, and the lad himself, I sincerely hope he’ll hit the ground running…
… unlike Lucas Paqueta who hits the ground all too often but not running so much. Hopefully he can address that little problem and be the player he was for us earlier.
Duran Duran go go!
He has great talent and an eye for goal, strikes the ball very pure, 2 reasons we are selling is obviously Watkins is class, and his off the field attitude, i personally think he will end up being a top striker, and its a shame he is leaving, as i dont think we would find a good replacement as good for 40mil.
Duran! You are Gold! Welcome brother, COYI!
If we keep hold of Brazilian magic man this guy will get a. Hat ful on goals
He’ll either be the bargain of the century or a complete rip off! He has so much potential, but also a bit of a bad attitude. As a Villa fan, part of me is gutted that he’s leaving and part of me is delighted. I genuinely have no idea whether he’ll be the next Drogba or the next Carlton Cole. He’s certainly exciting to watch though, you can expect some thunderbolt goals from him, and a few scuffles with defenders.
Thank you for a genuine heads-up – he sounds like a tornado looking for an outlet! Only time will tell how he handles the pressure of being the ‘main’ man upfront every single week – here’s to a cracker of a season for both Clubs! Cheers
Well Barry, at least if he is the next Carlton Cole at least we will have someone who will work his a**e off, and give his ALL to the team, you certainly don’t get that with every player you sign.
I always thought that this deal would get done eventually as there were no other issues beyond the agreeing of a price between the clubs.
He’s been restricted by Watkins, how many would displace Watkins ? Not many I’d suggest.
I think he’ll do well unless there are temperament issues.
Have to say I’m impressed with Villa fans coming to express their opinions on our West Ham fansite and being mostly very nice and good humoured. It has left me with a good impression of them.
I don’t really know why so many seem to want to visit this site but they have been friendly and good natured. Good luck to you guys for your new season. Thanks Villa fans! 😊👍
From the club who gave us claret & blue.
Now they come bearing friendliness and informed opinion.
Makes a change from some of the bad feeling seen recently on here.
Thank you God. Maybe now we can get on with building a team that can challenge for top 4.
Of course Villa would hold out for top $ as we have no other strikers of note, wingers aside. Should have paid the asking price straight out and you haggle and dabble when you squad players can already do the job…..doh!!!
It not all done yet watch the space for Newcastle to take him like manu di
Why would he go to newcastle to sit behind isak when he’s left villa because he dint want to sit behind watkins
Sure hope he plays well so we can get a big fee for him when he inevitably jockeys for a move to a super league club next offseason…
Come on mate since when do we make a profit on strikers! i’ll put your comment down to Saturday morning hangover lol….but seriously god knows what we are in for and getting when you hear what the Villa fans are saying….going to be a fun ride from the sound of it
Honestly I think the upside is better than his obvious issues, he’s stroppy and full of himself however if he’s the main striker I’d expect him to get 15+ goals in the EPL as I think he’s that good. Watkins is our main man and that’s not going to change anytime soon so better that he moves on. That said WH won’t get him at a discount from Villa. If positions were the other way around you wouldn’t want to sell any players to Villa for less than what you value the player at so you can’t blame Villa for holding out.
