Former West Ham United manager David Moyes has given a scathing response to the club’s 3-0 Premier League loss to Chelsea at the London Stadium today.

Moyes, doing punditry work alongside former Sky Sports presenters Andy Gray and Richard Keys, did not hold back in his assessment of the Hammers’ awful performance. The Scotsman even compared today’s humiliation unfavourably to his own home record against Chelsea, which he pointed out was far better than what was seen today.

“They’ll be disappointed because we [West Ham under Moyes] had a pretty good record against Chelsea at the London Stadium over the years. Sure, we had our difficulties at Stamford Bridge, but all in all, we’ve been pretty good against them. They’ll be disappointed,” Moyes pointed out.

It’s difficult to argue with the end of that assessment, however, one gets the feeling that both Gray and Keys have been waiting to put the boot into West Ham following the hosts’ anti-Tim Steidten rant back in April.

I suspect that this will just be the beginning too, with many of the ‘be careful what you wish for’ crew licking their lips in anticipation of Julen Lopetegui’s failure.

Be careful what you wish for. The ohrase that all Moyes outers really hate. No Moyes outer wished for that though did they. No Moyes inner wished for that. That was the worst I’ve seen West Ham play since the days of Avram Grant.

  • Alex says:

Well done to the brainless fans who wanted Moyes out. He only won a European trophy, something Villa could not do last season. Pellegrino mark 2 has brought in 2nd rate rubbish, a relegation battle is inevitable.

    • Alan says:

slagging off Moyes doesn’t really add anything to the discussion about the current manager.

      • Alan says:

Admin, would you have found ‘noshing’ less offensive. I clearly didn’t start the post with ‘slagging.’ No need for the edit was there?

        • Martin Treasure says:

noshing would be fine. when you speed read hundreds of comments for profanities, believe me, you don’t always have time for nuances. It would have been far quicker to delete posts with any profanities but I try to keep those who I think inadvertently erred. Don’t worry about it. There isn’t an agenda to silence you. Opposite actually

  • Kevlar says:

Moyes should be quiet and go and join Everton and get them relegated! Hes a bitter little loser and we don’t want him anywhere near west ham.The reason Lopetegui is struggling is down to Moyes! When he was sacked we only had 4 decent first eleven players that we could rely on.So we’ve had to buy ten new players and try and get them to play a system together. Let’s back lopetegui and forget about Dino Dave once and for ever.

    • Alex says:

Nonsense. Also, those idiots who wanted Moyes out, nowhere did I see anyone put forward a name for his replacement. Nothing wrong with criticizing but you have to offer an alternative. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

  • Phillip says:

I really think he needs to watch what he says given we shipped five goals or more on five separate occasions last season

  • Ess_Bee says:

S@@@! The Hammers have lost their first three homes games for the first time in their history!
I hope results start to improve from here on in.
    COYI.

    • Carrick hammer says:

I think everyone should calm down we didn’t play well but still had more shots on target than chelsea more possession and more corners than them .if kudus had scored 30 seconds before Jackson who know what would have happened.
Almost forgot we should have had a penalty C.O.Y.I.

      • B says:

Thank you for a momentarily injection of reason.
        Everyone calm down.
Losing 3 games against 3 of the top 4 teams in the EPL is hardly time to hit the panic button.

  • Luke says:

Never happened under moyse, apart from the 12 times we let in 3 or more last season with some 5’s and 6’s mixed in there aswell.

    • B says:

      To Luke:
Pundits don’t require facts or logic to spout BS, because their goal is headlines.

    • Alex says:

You obviously wanted Moyes out. Who did you want as his replacement? I’m all ears waiting… don’t forget, 30 years since Arsenal won a European trophy, 40 years for Spurs.

  • Ray says:

What do you expect the critics to say, “Oh gosh, I did not see that coming”? They are going to make the most of it just as you would if the hammers were now top.
The question is, what are they, (West Ham United) going to do about it? It is true, we are not down and out yet, but the defensive strategy needs to change and quick.

Sooner rather than later todibo has to play beside kilman in a back 4. Midfield alveres solar might create the spark ,pacman isn’t summervill left kudos in the middle bowen on the right and probably fulkrug up front ,that’s hard to pick. We have got to play better than we have and I commented on people suggesting Chelsea would have player missing and as I said talk about a win when we have points

  • Jeeps says:

There’s one thing they need to do and that’s stop conceiving goals in first ten minutes.
    It’s happening almost every game.
They’re on the back foot before the game has got going.
Strange substitutions when needing goals, why take off those most likely to score.
Needs to play strongest side from start and that doesn’t include Mavro.

  • Steveo says:

Well where do we start? At this present time we look like a side who are unable to play how the manager wants us to play. That said I am baffled by his team selections. I don’t want to be critical of him but he certainly has most of us raising a eyebrow let’s hope he can get it right before we end up in a relegation situation
