Premier League point may be vital at the end of the season
West Ham 0-0 Brighton
The 0-0 draw against Brighton may not be etched in the history books as a classic encounter. From a West Ham perspective, the game was dull and lacked cutting edge or creativity. That latter stages in particular saw the Hammers pose no counter attacking threat.
Nevertheless, I believe it will be considered a valuable point by the end of the season. When viewed alongside victories against Manchester United, Arsenal, and Wolves, it doesn’t seem too bad a result. Considering the absence of most of the regular back four and the creative duo of Paqueta and Kudus, the earned point appears quite impressive.
Brighton has been a bogey team for West Ham, making the four points secured this season a sign of progress. Of course the South coast club had their own injury problems. But David Moyes was missing five first team players by my count.
During the game, the lack of serious creative players in reserve was clearly evident. However, that discussion is better left for another day and, hopefully, will be addressed in the coming month.
As of now, West Ham sits in 6th place in the Premier League, surpassing teams like Manchester United and Chelsea, which ain’t too shabby .
