That was the Irons week that was!

In terms of an international break week when – let’s be rampantly honest – every day was a slow day, one story dominated that Irons week that was.

It saw a man who had freely been described as a Hammers legend INTHE PASTB watch his status as an Iron anyonewants to remember crash to nothing – Rio ‘the red’ Ferdinand.

Having seen his career collapse like a house of  cards during the PAI Capital affair – helped by another former Iron in Tony Cottee who doesn’t seem to have thought his status through – Rio is now in the big fat zero  as a former Hammer bracket.

You don’t call for Man United to sign the best player at the London Stadium, front up a takeover bid and then suggest the Saudis of Newcastle sign him.

Rio do one.

Enter stage right Jesse Lingard stage right calling out Nobes who apparently got the hump when Moysie named his form Reds player as a Hammers golden boy before telling how the skipper helped him by teaching him the Irons dressing room rules.

The one good thing was that nobody was ‘choppsing’ off about how unhappy they were at the club – as once was usual on these ghastly breaks.

But there was less than encouraging news from Mark Lawrenson who predicted a second Hammers win in successive Goodison years since 1930.

Well, you can’t have everything I guess – thank God it’s Saturday again
