It’s no secret that West Ham United’s relegation to the Championship has placed them under significant financial pressure, and multiple reports indicate that rival clubs see this as an opportunity to prise away their most valuable asset.
The Hammers are bracing themselves for a wave of summer offers for captain Jarrod Bowen, with Chelsea among the most determined suitors ready to test the club’s resolve.

Alonso’s appointment at Chelsea is bad news for West Ham fans

Bowen, 29, remains under contract until 2030 and has repeatedly expressed affection for West Ham, even hinting at a desire to help the club return to the Premier League. Selling the player will only cause further discontent from supporters towards the clubs board.

However, the economic reality of relegation, combined with the need to raise substantial funds means West Ham may be forced to entertain bids. According to reports the club would ideally seek around £50 million, yet interested teams will attempt to negotiate closer to £40 million, a valuation shaped by Bowen’s age and the Hammers weakened bargaining position.
Chelsea’s interest is long‑standing. New manager Xabi Alonso is reportedly keen on adding leadership and Premier League experience to his squad, and Bowen is an attractive target. The Blues view him as a versatile attacking option who could strengthen their right flank and provide competition across the forward line.
A number of teams are all monitoring the situation. The club’s stance will be tested not only by financial necessity but by the ambitions of those clubs eager to secure our captain.
Many supporters would prefer other players to be sold instead of Bowen, yet the reality is that it will come down to who is in demand, and what offers are made.

I have been a season ticket holder since the late eighties, so experienced the highs and lows of being a West Ham supporter. I previously wrote for OLAS and have contributed to a number of football publications in the past.

£70m for Fernandez, £35m for Summerville these look like certs to go.
£90m from Kretinsky (or £45m from each Sullivan and Kretinsky).
Do whu get £50m parachute fund?
Alvarez uninjured should stay but if he goes possibly £20m.
    Wam Bissaka £10m.Diouf £20m.
Areola £5m (relinquishing his wages of £120,000). This amounts close to £250m.
Bowen, Taty, Soucek, Mavro are needed to give support to academy players.
Would Bowen get regular time else where. Will be approaching 34 for next world cup unlikely to go.
There could be pressure from family to stay at whu.
Looks to be sufficient ways of raising money without selling him.

They cannot invest that amount each under SCR in one season. Also we are not in the best position to stop our players from being pinched on the cheap.
