The Cheat Code to Beating West Ham Now Obvious to All

If West Ham’s opponents didn’t know it before, they do now: there’s a cheat code to unlock the Hammers’ defence.

With Tottenham racking up double figures in corners at the London Stadium, it quickly became clear how Graham Potter’s backline would be breached.

The warning signs came early in the first half when Cristian Romero had a goal disallowed for a push on Kyle Walker-Peters. In truth, it looked a harsh decision, and West Ham were handed a reprieve to regroup and adjust.

Graham Potter looks concerned about his West Ham future

West Ham boss Graham Potter does not seem to know how to fix the Hammers defence

But the Hammers failed to learn. The next eight corners saw Walker-Peters tasked with marking the much bigger Romero, and West Ham’s central defenders appeared more interested in marking space than dealing with Tottenham’s physical presence. With every delivery, Thomas Frank’s side edged closer to scoring.

In the end, it was Pape Matar Sarr who nodded home unmarked at the far post—an utterly predictable outcome given the chaos in West Ham’s set-up.

Tottenham found it easy against West Ham

The blunt truth is simple: West Ham cannot defend corners, and nobody in Potter’s coaching team seems to have an answer. It may be too late for Potter to bring in a set-piece specialist, but both players and staff need to take a hard look at themselves.

Make no mistake, every Premier League manager will have seen how easy it is to get at West Ham. Unless something changes quickly, expect more of the same when Palace arrive next week.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

Potter has to take the blame for his inability to sort out the seemingly obvious, but I find it staggering that there is not a single player on the team that can step up and fix things on the pitch. They can run and kick a ball, but that is it, there is no football brain at all. They are all sheep, no exceptions.

Unfortunately Potter squandered a fortune on a GK who’s unfit for purpose . Westham are going to lose big in every match unless Hermansen is dumped for of all people Fabianski , who is at least Premier League quality . Of course Potter needs to be sacked now because he’s worse than useless and our club will soon get the nickname Worstham United . It’s hugely disappointing that Westham will only be rid of Sullivan and Co after being relegated . Look forward to getting beat by Millwall and Wrexham again .

Ever since Stuart Pearce was sacked our defence has been a shambles

We cannot defend the back post that much is obvious. We put small players to defend against big players and without Souchek on the pitch it was obvious it was only going to get a lot worse.

I’m not sure that crossing a football into the 6 yard box can be deemed a cheat code?! The real cheat code for beating West Ham appears to be…. Turn Up. Have fun.

How much more time can we give potter before we real are relegated IF he cant even find a decent goalie BUT wont admit he got it wrong

I find it both shocking and embarrassing that any team at the elite level are unable to do the basics right when it comes to defending corners or set pieces. The goalkeeper must also take some responsibility and be able to dominate the 6 yard box to help the team out. We are quite a big team but the heading ability of our centre halves in particular is very poor. If we poor supporters can see it then surely Potter and his coaching staff must realise this is the number one priority to fix otherwise we have no chance of staying up.

The West Ham that I grew up loving has gone. We left Upton Park for this soulless bowl for this awful, passion less, boring shocking football. West Ham has no identity, soul. Fans are so apathetic now they don’t even stay to vent to show their displeasure, they just leave. Sullivan and Brady have destroyed this club and broken the fan base. I only hope these demos are successful and bring pressure to bear to finally rid us of Sullivan and Brady, and this clueless, joke of a manager. Things need to change otherwise this club is finished and it won’t be coming back.

So Gonzo your not blaming the players but the coaches and Potter? Well my a opinion you are right. After all it’s the manger /coaches to get the best out of the players they have and don’t seem to be organised enough to do that. Also why are we still playing that slow midfield pairing. Come on Potter get your finger out and sort it

  • Peter hancock says:

Try playing your best team from the off and when they get tired take them off ward prowse is too bloody slow we were crying out for a striker early on with the crosses magassa starts from now on end of

  • Kenny Irons says:

Yeah, and if corners don’t work just walk through us as is the norm’.
We’ve been conceding goals for years and not scoring many.
Battered under Bilic, Grant, Pellegrini, Moyes, Loppy and now Potter and also way before so not a new problem.
Potter, worryingly, has this same after match excuse “ I saw the positives’ really ?
Grant’s one was “I trust my players “ after our sixth defeat on the spin, and Pellegrini was “ Big team mentality “ obviously not realising you play football with your feet.
Make no mistake, we’re going down under Potter – and whoever replaces him, cos under Sullivan we’re guaranteed to hire another loser !
