The Edson Alvarez effect

|

Edison Alvarez looks to be a magnificent replacement for Declan Rice.

In the two games that our new man Edison Alvarez has started  ( we can’t count Chelsea)  you can already see what he brings to the side.

His confident, swashbuckling style puts me in mind of certain W.Bonds of this parish and there can’t be many higher compliments I can pay the man.

Anyway, his numbers are already looking very good indeed

According to Fbref and Opta  – he has managed to win the ball from eight tackles and he has a handy 70% tackle success rate on opponents wo came dribbling at him!

In the 180 minutes played he has also blocked right shots and made 9 interceptions.

He is a very well organized player who clearly, reads the game very well and appears to have seamlessly integrated into the side and greeting  Premier League football as a man who was born to play in this league.
