Michail Antonio: The West Ham striker has now been discharged from hospital three weeks after a car accident. The 34-year-old sustained a broken leg and had surgery on a lower limb fracture earlier in December, with West Ham expecting him to be out of action for at least a year. No return date:
Jarrod Bowen is set for a spell on the sidelines after fracturing his left foot during West Ham’s 5-0 defeat to Liverpool. The 28-year-old limped off in the 60th minute at the London Stadium and expected to return in February. Estimates range from 15th February when West Ham take on Brentford to 25th February when the Hammers face Leciester City.
Niclas Fullkrug The German forward sustained a hamstring injury during West Ham United’s 1-2 defeat to Aston Villa in the FA Cup, and he is expected to be out for several -up to twelve – weeks which could mean a return for Bournemouth visit to the London Stadium on 5th April.
Jean Clair Todibo: The West Ham defender was replaced after 53 minutes to the Hammers defeat to Manchester City on 4 January, having picked up an injury.
“We don’t know exactly the nature of his injury, We have to assess him, but I am not very optimistic with him.” the previous head coach said at the time.
Todibo then flew back to France for treatment but his current whereabouts and condition is unknown. He was missing from the FA Cup match day squad last Friday.
Return date unknown
Emerson “suffered an injury in a training session, that’s why he is not here.” explained the former West Ham coach. He was also missing from the FA cup match day squad on Friday. The 31-year-old picked up an injury related to his Achilles tendon and calf muscle while on international duty earlier last September, and was subsequently absent against Fulham last time out.
Return date unknown
Crysencio Summerville also suffered a hamstring injury in the FA Cup game last Friday, but the club medical staff were rescanning him over the weekend to assess the seriousness of his injury. His injury is not expected to be as bad a Fullkrug but the club have no return date estimate at present. Return date unknown
Kontastinos Mavropanos threw everything he had at Morgan Rogers in an effort to try and stop the Villa man extending the home side’s lead in the second half.
But while throwing himself at the ball, Mavropanos smashed his head into the side of Rogers’ knee, leaving him in agony on the pitch in the FA cup game.
The Greek centre-back couldn’t continue after the nasty knock and was subsequently substituted and replaced by 18-year-old Luis Guilherme on Friday.
He is not expected to miss the Fulham game on Tuesday: Return date: 14th January
Very useful article. Facts rather than the regular fiction on other sites and only occasionally fiction on ours.
Apparently we made a bid for Duran last week and it was obviously way below villas asking price ..there’s a surprise if true..🙄…
Can any of you confirm if this is true plse ???
‘villa’s’ asking price? Does anybody actually know?
It’s saying we offered 50 martin…but they want 70 .( wich is to much ..all here say
obviously..do you know if we did put a bid in or not bud
Summerville was an odd one. Acted as if he had a hamstring, then played the rest of the half, then withdrawn as a precaution at half time.
Losing Fullkrug and Summerville made a big difference so hopefully it’s less rather than more.
Blame bad luck or whatever misfortune you like the bottom line is we’re not prepared for 3 forwards to be missing with no alternatives to steps in,this situation was telegraphed to steiden months ago GET 2 FORWARDS no matter What,he obliged with an injury prone 31year old and an inexperIenced18 year old ,great transfer business?
Somebody refused to pay the bit extra for Duran is where the fault lies. He was keen to come but a decision was made not to pay a bit more. I saw a valuation of him the other day at £70M. That was the great transfer business, not the then needing to bring in Fullkrug as a cheaper option which should never have arisen.
It wasn’t even the worst decision at that time because somebody decided that Lopetegui was the best man for the job was the worst decision.
100% absolutely infuriating…
Seems to be the strategy, either panic buys like Ings or replace crocks bought in previous windows and replaced them with more potential crocks like Calvert-Lewins or Ferguson! Alternatively, we can pay £60m now when we could have bought Duran for £40m in the summer but seemed then to be too expensive. Or again we can look at Rashford who just wants to party so a move to London would be highly attractive and he wouldn’t have to learn a new language! I think get a solid reliable CB like Axel Diasi on loan with an option to buy would be a good start. I see the logic in buying younger player’s like Luizao and Guilherme but that’s as far as it goes as they either sit on the bench or don’t get anywhere near making a first term debut. It’s just the West Ham way!
yep I am a bit worried when I hear these stories about Dominic Calvert-Lewin, very West Ham solution. Fortunately I remember the official line from inside the club was in the summer was ”no-go: knee liability’! hopefully nothing changes.
I always thought Calvert-Lewin was a Moyes target?
