The Hammers who could go to the World Cup

The 2022 World Cup takes place in November.

The start date for the tournament is November 20th, when Qatar take on Ecuador.

We’ve taken a close look at the players who could be involved in the tournament, going through every group to do so.

GROUP A: Qatar, Senegal, Ecuador, Netherlands.

There are no Hammers represented in Group A.

GROUP B: England, Iran, USA, Wales.

Declan Rice is likely to go with the Three Lions and Jarrod Bowen is another option, having made his debut under boss Gareth Southgate. Aaron Cresswell is also in contention but its unlikely he’ll play for England.

There are no representatives for the other three nations.

GROUP C: Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland.

Lukasz Fabianski could have been involved had he not retired from international duty, while Manuel Lanzini is an outside shout to go with Argentina.

GROUP D: France, Australia, Denmark, Tunisia.

Alphonse Areola could go with France as back-up to their captain, Hugo Lloris. Kurt Zouma is another option at centre-back.

GROUP E: Spain, Costa Rica, Germany, Japan.

Pablo Fornals will hope to be involved with Spain.

Thilo Kehrer has also won a number of caps for Germany and will hope to go to the tournament.

GROUP F: Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Croatia.

Nayef Aguerd is a Morocco international and if he recovers from injury in time, is a shoo-in to play at the World Cup.

Nikola Vlasic is also likely to play for Croatia; he is on loan at Torino.

GROUP G: Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon.

Lucas Paqueta is almost certain to play for Brazil.

GROUP H: Portugal, Ghana, Uruguay, South Korea.
