From the awful news of Michail Antonio’s car crash and the updates that followed, it was clearly a near miss for West Ham’s top scorer who admitted that he’d taken life for granted before the horrific events of December’s accident. He needed surgery to repair his broken leg and has been ruled out of a return to football for the rest of this season.
The latest image of Antonio’s recovery just made me smile. Obviously taken in the last 24 hours thanks to the ‘Brighton v Chelsea’ headline on the TV in the back ground, it shows Michail Antonio hard at it in the gym doing weights work. Which is wonderful to see. The Hammers’ striker and record goalscorer almost lost his life in December- so seeing how well his recovery is progressing is a sight for sore eyes.
Now I’m sure there are many months of hard, painful, frustrating and exhausting work ahead. But it is great to see him looking focussed and in better shape than in the last published image in January when he left hospital on crutches.
The Daily Mail actually captioned the image stating that ‘Antonio had been training in Dubai’ but looking out of the window it looks as if that location might be a little nearer to home. Antonio is due to be presented to West Ham’s home crowd of 62,000 before the Brentford game so that Hammers fans can show him the love and encourage him in his recovery. Nice one, Mikey.
Well done Mike like that man that goal against Tottenham that the one glad to see you getting fit credit to our team 👏 👍
Well done Michail. Now stay away from fast cars and enjoy life in the correct way.
Great images of a great servant to this club, but please don’t call him our record goal scorer, football didn’t begin in 1992
Nice
i would have thought with a break that bad he would have barely had the cast off let alone the muscle build up already
He scored the first goal against Tottenham at their new stadium, for that alone he’s a champ😊 – well taken too.
When he is not frustrating you, the man is brilliant, nobody else like him; we’re lucky.
On Saturday I will be raising a pint to his good health.
