The Irons well and truly on their way so lets enjoy it

|

Last night I got a lot off my chest about my beloved West Ham.

Moaners always make me react like that eventually and people with fixed mindsets ,for good OR bad, do the same.

I’ve said all I want to say about them and their various protests where every excuse for failure is aimed at one group of people or person – in most cases the board.

I say that quite bluntly because many have claimed we are what they would call “board lovers” – a term and language of simplicity for simple minds.

There are always various reasons for success and failure so I can’t be doing with such narrow minded stuff.

We support the board because the board runs the club we love and has kept us in the Premier League for going on 10 years.

Now to the point: I personally am guilty of one thing – living in the past where the hallowed days of Greenwood, Lyall, Mooro and all the other legends are probably too firmly fixed in my mind.

It’s not hard to  remember that even back then we were regularly haunted by the spectre of relegation!

Like some of those out there who dwell on the more recent past as their reason to moan, its time to join the present where quite wonderful things are happening at our football club.

I have rarely seen a more complete performance from a West Ham team than last night’s and coming on the back of that awful defeat by Liverpool showed this is not only a team of great skill but one of huge resilience.

If we can’t celebrate what we are seeing and forget the recent and distant past to which I have personally held my hands up there’s something seriously wrong.

I said it last night and now it’s worth saying again now I hope for the last time – let’s enjoy this glorious period in our history.

Frankly, I’m not gonna tolerate such expressions as “cancer to our club,” asset stripping ” and all the rest of it anymore on here.

Let’s keep all that to ourselves because it’s destabilising to the club we love, litigious and highly  objectionable.

Yes, Hugh you are right, let’s enjoy the moment. Get behind our historic, family club, even if sadly from our living rooms at these unprecedented times. 62 years since I first went to the ground and I have enjoyed every game, albeit some more than others! Leave the moaning to the other London clubs below us!
